I've seen three diff acups in my city, all in their own office and I've only ever paid the exam/treatment fees. I've never been to a chiro so i'm personally unaware if one is supposed to tip them.

Us cysters seeking acupncture is typically a long and recurring thing so I'd say the tip is that you schedule additional appts. I actually interviewed 8 and prices ranged from $60-$100 with appts 30-70 mins. I'm currently getting twice a week hour long appts at $89 each involving 9-14 needles belly hands legs feet and 6 ear beads. On top of that herbs advised by acupuncturist.... I think it's grapeseed extract. On metformin and prenatals otherwise.

Oh and old acupuncturist was like 3 hrs once a week $75 bucks and more interested in being a shrink.

No - I think you treat acupuncturists and chiropractors like any medical experts, and don't tip them. Generally, their fees are enough anyway.

It went well.. I was a little sensitive feeling the needles especially on my left side. I don't know if this is because of my fibromyalgia or what.. I was able to relax and I actually felt wonderful after the session.

Glad to hear it went well! Acupuncture is really relaxing for me, too. Some people have spas... I have needles...

Oddly enough I found out this last week that my 4 and 5 pm appts had fear and some quick pain upon needle insertion but my 8:15 am appts now have no pain and thus no fear . I can always relax and sleep too! I fall asleep on my back and then on my front. What i hate though is wrinkled forehead from paper covered padded head cushion.
