Question For those of you who have done laser

I am really interested in getting laser hair removal. There is a location in my city that does it and they advertise that it is only $1 per pulse. For those of you who have gotten it, is this a good price? They obviously cannot tell me how much it will be because, everyone is different. But do any of you know how many pulses you received for what areas and how much the cost was? Thanks!

Hmm... the place I go charges by treatment, not pulses. I'm thinking back. I got my upper lip and chin (and a few strays) done, and I'm guessing that it was at least 120 pulses. I had a full beard before starting. Hope that helps!

I have had laser up until May. It was the best I invested my money in until it was time to stop.. now in September and 1/2 of it has grown back.

Now I don't want to discourrage you at all by this, be sure its what you want because I find $1 / pulse pretty expensive. I think you'd be best paying on a per treatment basis simply because at times the amount of pulses will have trippled from the week before and sometimes it'll be much less.

As for me, I paid $69 per treatment for my underchin - this included part of my neck. Now that was a pretty good price!

Good luck!

1.00 per pulse is a ridiculous pricing scheme because you are laying down and you can't see if they are doubling up on some areas. All they would have to do is lower the setting and (or make the wand zap a smaller surface area..they can control that).

I wouldn't do a deal like this..sounds like a total $$-grabber.

Hello KittyCAL,
I would have to agree with the other cysters,I pay per treatment, not per pulse.I Thank God for the laser technology. It changed my life.I've had a total off about 7-8 treamtments, and my last one being about 5 months ago.I'm very satisfied.I've moved states and had treatment in a couple different states, but I was paying 100.00-120.00 per treatment.I didn't just have excessive hairs, but BAD ingrown hairs that left scars, but with each treatment,it lightened the scaring fron ingrowns also, and now you can't even tell they were there. Now some hair regrown, but it's very little and so fine,it's unnoticeable, and I can live with this.Search around though, that's what I did,I just didn't go to the first place I called.Alot places offer package deals where they'll give you a big discount if you purchase the treatments in a bundle,or @ least agree to have several treatments. But I HIGHLY recommend laser,it's well worth it,it all cost!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and God Bless

I'm in the middle of laser treatments..."guaranteed permanent for two years" or something like that. I pay a flat fee and they treat me until it's done. I'm in the midwest...it's $900 for lip, chin/neck area. Expensive, but I couldn't take it anymore...and I'm only in my 20s. I've had about 4 so far, but haven't noticed any real changes. I didn't want to start the treatment until I was also treating the cause....so I've been on Met for a few months now.

One thing I really like about the laser treatments is that they've cleared up my cystic acne! I had one that just wouldn't go away for months and a week after the treatment, it was gone. I've also noticed the red and scarring on my cheeks is going down. This could also be due to not tweezing. That's right - no tweezing, waxing, depilatories during the whole treatment. Shaving only. It's weird at first but I've gotten used to it I guess.

I hope the hair starts going away soon tho...I was very sensitive to the laser, so they had to start with really weak pulses. Now I'm up to stronger stuff.

One other thing - it hurts unless they blow cold air on the area to numb it. Then it's not bad, just a little warm.

I had laser done in 2002. It was $800 for the first 6 treatments and $200 for each consecutive treatment. Watch the wording on the treatments. It is not guarnteed to remove the hair just to lighten the hair. In my case I had 10 treatments and it lasted 1 1/2 to 2 years and then came back with evengence. The hair is much darker and everywhere now. I wish I had stuck to waxing. However, having it done it did work for 2 years so weigh your options.

Best of Luck
