For those of you who have had a d&c

Hi,
I had a d&c September 1st. I got two sets of discharge instructions, one in Finnish and the other in English. Both of them said completely different things. The English set said absolutely no sex for 2 weeks. The Finnish set said sex was permitted after the bleeding has stopped. Well, I had sex on September 11th and then again on September 13th (the early morning of September 11th, about 10 days and 10 hours after my d&c). Now i'm scared that I should have waited. The doctor said on September 7th that I could have sex as long as I used a condom for a week. I know it was stupid, but I didn't use one. When I had the d&c they told me I would ovulate about 2 weeks later. I knew that if I waited to weeks to have sex then I would miss that ovulation. So, I had sex the morning of the 11th. I had some strange sensation a few hours after sex. Almost like a period cramp, same kind of pain, but without the cramp. I felt to see if my cervix felt closed and it did. But, i'm afraid now that I might have an infection. Also, has anyone had shooting pains through their breasts and off and on sensitivity after a d&c? When I was pregnant, my breasts were hyper sensitive. Now some days they are and some days they arent. I thought I was ovulating but now im not sure. One last thing, sorry, I have little bits of brownish discharge that is almost gummy. Like snot that has been allowed to dry a bit so that you can roll it into a ball(really sorry for the grossness). Has anyone had this? Does it sound like I have an infection or that i'm ovulating? Oh and one last thing, after a d&c do you get the same ovulation signs as you did before the d&c? I'm sorry I haven't had a d&c so I can't answer most of your questions, but I wouldn't think that you need to be worried that you have an infection from the "snotty blood"...that's just clots coming out, I think that is normal. Has your bleeding stopped?? And now it's just the clots? I'm sure that is fine. Also, I think that 10 days (almost 11 days) is close enough to the 2 weeks that you should be safe I think the just tell you to wait that long to be safe because they know that people will do it early ya know? Like if they said a week then you'd do it in 3 days! Anyway, I wouldn't think you have an infection unless you are having symptoms of infection, I don't think that you need to worry about it though just because you had sex. Do you have symptoms though of one?? Anyway, like I said I haven't had a d&c so I can't be sure, but I think you are okay. If you are really worried then call the doc, better to ease your mind than have to be worried about it forever, that's stress you don't need! Hugs!

It isn't exactly like clots. It is more like rubber cement when it dries a bit. But it has stopped now. The bleeding stopped completely after 5 days.
Well, I have had some weird sensations in my cervix that feel like the pain from a period cramp without actually having the cramp and I have been getting shooting pains in my ovaries for about 2 days now and i'm still a bit swollen. I was planning to wait until Friday and then go to the health center to take a urine test that will detect infection and have an exam done. Maybe i'm just being paranoid, but all of the things I have read that can happen after a d&c are scaring me to death. I don't want to hurt my chances of ever getting pregnant again.

Hmmm...maybe it is just sticky CM coming out w/blood and that's why it is brown. I don't know...but you are smart to get checked out, I don't blame you there, better safe than sorry, I'm sure you are fine but getting checked out is still important to ease your mind and take the stress off, you don't need any extra stress right now!
