Smile For Those Of You Who've Done Laser

Ok here's the deal. I have a mild case of PCOS. My symptoms are:

Very mild hair growth (chin, upper lip)
Very mild acne on my chin when hairs dont come out during plucking
Infertility (not an issue now of course)
Irregular periods without BCP

Everything is treated with BCP and Spiro. But I'm interested in laser hair removal. My hair growth is mild but the hairs are dark and I do have to pluck daily because I want my chin to feel super soft. I just want to feel feminine, ya know what I mean? I dont want to spend time plucking and dealing with the acne that can develope if plucking wont successfully pull out a short hair. My horomones are in check thanks to meds, diet/exercise. I am a thin cyster and am wondering if laser hair removal might be a good choice for me.

How long does laser hair removal last? Which laser is the best for mild PCOS cases?

The type of laser used won't have anything to do with PCOS. It will depend on your skin color and hair color (and preference of the office doing your treatments).

Assuming your hormones stay in check, you might not have to have any further sessions. At worst, maybe one or two sessions every few years...

Laser is an EXCELLENT investment for many, many women...

I agree...I only got half the sessions that I was supposed to get and there has been significant reduction in hair growth. I didn't get it on my face though....I got underarms, full legs and arms.

Awesome news!! I was hoping you guys would say that!! I have an appointment with my Endo next week and I'm going to discuss this with her. I'll also have a full blood analysis done to check everything...then, I'm off to the Derm to talk with them about starting.

Thanks for the info ladies!!

I've had laser on my legs, under arms, bum, and bikini. It worked best on the darkest thickest thickest hair. I still have to shave my underarms and upper legs and the bum pretty much all grew back. Hope that helps some.
