Smile Thoughts??

I had a follow-up appointment with my endocrinologist last week to see if the met was working for me. (I had been on 1000mg of the xr for about 6 weeks). I hadn't seen any physical results (weight loss, periods, or decreased acne) yet, so I thought I'd be coming home with an increased dose of the met. Although much to my surprise, the blood tests that I had done prior to the appointment came back absolutely normal. ALL of my hormone levels had returned to their normal levels. I was stunned, I actually asked the doctor if he was sure.

Is this possible?? Are the physical results just something that will happen in time now that my hormone levels are back to normal???

Unhappy Sorry...

I don't have any answers for you, but I thought I would give you a bump, since I'm sure someone knows something about this...

That sounds a lot like me. I've been on 2,000 mg since july and still see no results. Although my recent hormone tests are normal (except insulin), I've only gained weight (10 lbs. since may) and my hair growth has gotten worse. I keep waiting to loose weight and have my acne clear up, but no matter what I eat or how much I exercise, it doesn't help. Energy is low, symptoms are bad. Anyway, only answers my endo gives me is "that shouldn't be happening." The only timeline they've given me for it to work is two months. I've been on it since april.
