Default Throwing up at night

Hello all.

I have been on 2000mg per day for two weeks with few side effects. I had been taking two of the smaller 500 mg pills from my first prescription twice a day. I got the enormous horse pill sized 1000 mg pills and took my first one at supper time. Last night at about 12:30 I woke up knowing that I would throw up. I threw up for a long while and then finally was able to sleep.

Was it something I ate, or do you suppose the larger pill is absorbed differently? Has anyone woken up in the night and thrown up? Isnt diarrhea a more common problem?

I don't know if it was something you ate or not. You mentioned that you had been having minimal side effects. I've been taking 2000mgs of Met since January and I still get sick and throw up. I've started taking all 4 of my 500mgs tablets before bed and I have no side effects whatsoever. It could be that the 1000mg tablet breaks down differently then taking 2 500mg tablets.

Hi,
I started on 1500 extended release in April. The nurse mistakenly told me to take 1 500mg pill 3x a day instead of all 3 pills at once in the morning as prescribed. I frequently threw up in the middle of the night during this time. Luckily my doc caught the mistake & I no longer have the vomiting issues. Good Luck!

I've only been taking met for a week and a half ... I'm currently on 1000mg (2 x 500mg a day) and am due to start on 3 x 500mg on Thursday - I've been having bad tummy ache since Saturday, but last night I went to bed at six o'clock feeling very unwell with a bad migraine, tummy ache and back ache. Anyway, around nine o'clock I called my husband upstairs because I just felt so ill, and within half an hour I was being rather violently sick in the bathroom. So much to the point that I've had to take the day off work today because I felt so awful.

I hope these side effects are going to disappear soon ... wishing you all luck xxxx

Even though there have been moments that I have felt really unwell, I have to say that the positive impact of being on the Met is well worth it. I think that my moods are more stable than they have been since.... well, since I can remember. I hope against hope that the PMS I have suffered from will be gone.

I think that because my side effects have been few I got a little spoiled. My guess is that it was eating fried chicken that caused me to wake up sick.

I wish all of you the very best of luck that your symptoms diminish and you are feeling so much better! Hugs!
