I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in April of 2007. I underwent two surgeries to have my thyroid removed, one in April of 07 and the other in May of 07. Following the removal of my thyroid I underwent radioactive iodine treatment in June of 07. I had a follow up cancer scan in March of 08 which was clean and showed no cancer, along with undetectable thyroid globulin levels. I have had my thyroid globulin levels checked more than a handful of times since and it has always been undetectable.
I became pregnant in May of 09. I am currently almost 27 weeks pregnant. Since becoming pregnant, my TSH levels have sky rocketed. I was seeing an awful doctor and decided to switch. My new doctor has gotten my TSH levels under control, however I recently went for a thyroid globulin test and had a detectable level of .3, which is still very small.
I am extremely concerned with my thyroid globulin level as this is suppose to be a marker of cancer growth. I am scheduled to have an ultrasound in December.
I was wondering if any of you ladies have been through something similar? Did you undergo radioactive iodine soon after the birth of your baby? I guess I am just looking for some support regarding of these issues from someone who has been there and done that.
Stars!!!!!!! Where have you been? You've been MIA! How is the baby growing?? I don't have any suggestions as I have never experianced anything like this but, you are on strong woman to have endured that and now pregnant. I wish you the best of everything that is going on and that's really just the pregnancy and not it coming back. We miss you on the Feb thread!!

I'm still around! I've just been lurking. I guess I've just got a lot on my mind right now with all this thyroid cancer stuff! I spoke to my doctor this morning and she is going to send me for a thyroid ultrasound ASAP. She said she would have her secretary schedule it and call me to let me know when it is scheduled. I hope and pray it will come out clean! I am terrified!!!!
On a positive note, everything is fine with the baby. I had a check up last Wednesday and the doctor said everything looked good!
