Default Thyroid Problem??

I had a TSH test done when I was diagnosed with PCOS. The result was 2.10. The refererance ranges are between 0.35-5.50. My doctor told me I didn't have a problem with my thyroid. I was just reading that anything over 2 is problem. I'm confused. I wish my doctor would have explained my blood work better. Anyone have any insight they could give on TSH test results. Does TSH levels change throughout the day?

Your doc is going by the old guidelines, the new ones are 0.3-3.0. Your result still falls in that range. How are you feeling though, are you having hypothyroid symptoms? Different people feel different at different ranges. Some people might feel like crap if their TSH goes over 2, while others don't. Some docs will say that while TTC your TSH shouldn't be over 2.

As far as I know TSH doesn't change more than a tiny bit thoughout the day, but I could be wrong.

I don't know if I've help you any or not, but good luck.

I feel pretty good. Right now I am a little restless and moody but it may be due to the fact that I am stresed from trying to understand all this ****. I have noticed that my body tempature is lower than it used to be. I guess I will have to get it tested again.

Yeah, if you suspect your thyroid might be out of whack it never hurts to get it tested again.
