I have had hypothyroidism for around 6-7 years. It has been pretty bad in the past, but since giving birth to my son and losing weight, it has imroved beyond belief! I think the actual pregnancy straightened me out a little. Just wish it hadn't been so difficult to get there!
I just wondered if somebody could interpret these results for me. Is my thyroid now in near-perfect working order??!!
T4 - 21 (I know this has been as low as 9 a few years ago)
T3 -1.4
TSH - 0.01
Anyone have any ideas??
TIA.
Andrea.

Andrea, please post the lab ranges for your T3 and T4 tests.
Your TSH looks very low...are you having any hyper symptoms? What has your doc said about these results? I'd be surprised if he didn't want to adjust your meds down a bit.
Anyway, post your lab ranges and I or others may be able to offer some insight. If your T4 is high and your T3 is low, for instance, you may need a T3 drug added in, or perhaps Armour (which contains T4 and T3). If they are both in mid range or higher, you may just need a slight reduction in your T4 dosage (if that's all you're taking right now).
Linda

I don't actually know the lab ranges. I think the range for the TSH is 10-26 but that's all I know.
I have to call my Endo secretary on Monday for my P4 level so I will ask her what the ranges are. Are they usually in brackets next to the results?
After posting this, I looked on the internet and, from what I gathered, the T3 and T4 were OK but the TSH level concerned me also. I think it's what's known as 'supressed', whatever that means.
I think I will receive a letter in the post about my results once the Endo has seen them as I don't know whether she had at that point.
Thing is, I don't have ANY hyper symptoms at all. If anything, it's the opposite - tired, gain weight very easily, water retention etc. but with the PCOS and being on Clomid you just don't know what's causing what!!!
I will post them on Monday.
Thanks very much for your help.
BTW. All I know is that I'm taking Levothyroxine. Which is that??
Many thanks.
Andrea.

10-25? Wow, that is certainly different than the U.S. range. A 0.01 sounds very dangerous. Something doesn't seem right. Here is a link to a UK thyroid site that lists the normal lab range for TSH as 0.1 - 6 or 5.5 IU/L.:
