Question thyroiditis

I have a question for all you cysters out there. Every year my GYN tests my thyroid, he is convinced this is a source of some of my troubles. Well year after year, my numbers have been low, but in normal range. You see I display the signs of hypothyroidism. Well low and behold this year I go for my check-up, he sends me for my yearly blood work, and my thyroid is elevated! Which blows both of our minds. That would mean I am hyper and not hypo. So I begin researching this and came across "thyroiditis". I discussed this posibility with my GYN also with my Endo's nurse. My GYN wants me to follow up with my family doc and my Endo's nurse switched my birth control pill. I was just wondering if anyone out there has experienced this? or knows anything more about similiar situations??
