Default Tightness in Throat

A couple of months ago I had l lot of tightness in my throat. The endo discovered nodules and did a needle biobsy and said they were non cancerous but that I had hashimoto's. Anyways they did not feel they were big enough to cause the pressure I was feeling in my neck. She thought it was do to the weight that I had gained. They increased my synthroid from 50 to 75 and it did seem to help. The problem is that the tightness started again (its only been a couple of months since they increased my dose). I had seen my primary doctor and she was concerened about one of my thyroid tests and asked what the endo had said about them. They didn't say a word. So now I'm really confused. Anyways has anyone else had this problem with the tightness in the throat?

i had and have the same thing. my gp sent me to an ENT and this dr decided i have allergies. could that be your problem?
i was also discovered to have the nodules. i notice the problem getting worse again, so i am becoming convinced it maybe allergies. it is allergy season in NY.

I did start taking allergy medication and it has helped some. I live in New York State as well and I know the allergy season is so bad here. I do still have bad days where it seems to be tight. It has to be one of the worse feelings. Thanks for your reply.

I just wanted to mention that I’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and asked my doctor about the feeling I have in my throat – likes there is always something there.

She said it can be due to my thyroids becoming enlarged because they’re sort of overworked right now.

Just thought I would pass that tidbit along.
