Default Tilapia?

Does anyone else do this?

I take one frozen raw tilapia fillet (avail in bags in grocery stores), nuke 2-3 mins, sprinkle salt and pepper on it, and top off with 2 tbsp of tartar sauce.
Reminds me of eating fried fish only without the batter! The tartar sauce has 3g of sugars in it, but I imagine you could find sugar-free if you tried.

Mostly you just taste the tartar sauce as tilapia is a very mild fish. Does this sound disgusting or yummy?

I think it sounds pretty good. I love tilapia!! We cook it on the grill all the time. I sprinkle it with lemon pepper, salt, and a mixture of lemon juice and butter. It tastes wonderful cooked like this on the grill.

Steamed in a steamer basket with some lemon pepper seasoning and some fresh lemon and dill.

Plumps it up and its yummy in less than 5 min.

Sounds delicious. I'll have to try it. I haven't eaten good old plain fish in soooo long!

We always bake it with a squirt of lemon juice and some blackening seasonings. Yummo!

Default Oh soo Yummy!

Yes, I love Tilapia. I have it very often. I use the frozen and steam it with lemon pepper, garlic, butter, and seafood seasoning for a little spice. I also like to bake it, using the same seasonings. It's so quick and easy; done in like 10-minutes. It can't really get any easier. I haven't tried it with the tartar sauce, but it sounds very tasty...I will be sure to try it soon.

bumping an old thread to ask:

Dixiehula, when you use the frozen and it only takes 10 minutes to cook, are you cooking it from frozen or do you defrost it?

I have some of this in my freezer and I just don't really know how to use it!

I had Tilapia at Denny's once, isn't it kind of bland?
Hence the recipe w/added spices?

Try this simple recipe!

Cut up some....
Red Onion, Tomato & Green Pepper....mix it up in a good amount of Italian salad dressing...

Lay the Tilapia in a baking dish..sprinkle salt and pepper on top.
Then dump the mixture on top and bake for like 30 mins.
Eat with some white rice!

YUM!

Michael loves when I cook that!
