Default Time line to feel better???

So, I finally got a dx that I can deal with. For the past year I have been ill, and I was not healing. I got dx with eczema (on the labia) and it just was not going away, no matter what we did. Then last month, my health turned even uglier. It was reminding me of almost 5 years ago, altough my bp was normal and my blood sugar was good. Of course I am on meds for those. Anyway, I gained 20-25lbs in just a couple months, but my appetite was almost gone. I was dizzy often for no reason, carpel tunnel symptoms, you name it, I had it. I went in and was dx with Hypothyroid. My mother has this and I repeatedly told drs of this each time I saw a new one for my other problem. I could have been helped long ago if only they had tested. A week after the tests I felt like I hit a brick wall and had the flu. don't feel like it is getting better and I have my next appt on Aug 11. I don't know what my number were, but I know it can take up to 6 weeks to feel better. In the mean time, I fall asleep at whim and my babies feel neglected. I am trying to get a plane ticket for my sis to come help, but not working so well.

Any hope of feeling better sooner? I/we are thinking that my healing has been slow due to the thyroid, which is a probelm on the list.

My dose is synthroid 125 mg in the mornings.

I hope you feel better soon. I just was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism myself, I haven't even been on the pills a week yet, but i hear that you can start feeling better as soon as a week and it took take up to a month. I wish you all the best. I would say if by a month your not feeling better call the doctor, maybe the med you are on isn't working for you. I am on Armour thyroid, but i have heard some people respond more to Synthroid and others Armour.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I wish I had a magic answer for you. It sounds like there is a lot going on. Bleh.

Thyroid issues can be very tricky to manage. (http://www.realthyroidhelp.com) But you also mentioned some symptoms (high blood pressure, poor immune function, random joint pain) that made me wonder if you have checked yourself out for Cushing's Syndrome. I am not sure how to get the diagnosis, but the first test you should get to rule out Cushing's is your cortisol levels. If they are high, you need to make sure you don't have Cushing's. (This is what I am doing at the moment. It's the pits.)

Hope you feel better soon, hon!

Well, I had my checkup today. I asked what my #s were last time and the could not give a specific one. Their reader only reads up to 60.0 and it was higher. We will see what todays blood said. They couldn't even get blood to come out of me. We have to get it under control before we can test for other things.
