Default timing of doses

i started at 500 mg a week and a half ago and the doc told me to take it before bed. then i bumped it up to 1000 mg on monday but she still said take the whole does at once before bed. there's nothing to indicate on the pill bottle that it's XR. i just thought doses were supposed to be spread out over the day. anyone else taking regular met 1000 mg at one time?

My doctor said the same thing... Last weekend I tried to take two doses (850 mg) one in the morning and one at night and got reeeeaaaaalllly sick with diarhea and vomiting... They recommended trying again this weekend but to take the entire 1700 mg dose at night... I am scared!!! How could this make it easier????

well, i think it's working for me. i've only gotten sick if i have something really fatty for dinner (i take my dose at about 9 p.m.). think about it -- you take your dose and then you sleep (and don't eat) for the next 8 hours while it does its work!

Hi girls,

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm on 1500mg of Met and I'm confused about when I should take it. I don't eat 3 meals a day or eat at regular times, so sometimes I forget to take my meds at all. Can we take them all at once, like at nighttime? Do we have to only take them with meals? I'm confused.

Help!!!

Hi Ladies,

I started Met around the same time as you Lamaannalove and was instructed to take it the same way. The only difference is that my 1000mg dose is one pill so I can't split it into 2 doses. Since the beginning I've taken all doses at night with my last meal and only had one episode of diarrhea. I'm excited about taking Met and hope it helps with TTC.

i been taking 1500 mg of met every day. i was instructed by my dr to take my 500mg doage 3x a day. but i agree when you work an irregualr work schedule and you dont a "consistant" diet (at least 3 meals a day) that it's hard to take your meds. i would like to know if it's alright if i take my meds at the same time @ night (when its convient) w/ a snack or a small meal.

has anyone had any effect from taking their met such as ovulating? my dr said that it could take up to 6 mths. i just want to know what some ppl may be experiencing.

thanks!!

Sarah

Hi there!

This is my first month taking Met, and I've already ovulated! Granted, I O'd late--CD 28--but at least it happened.

Makes all the side effects I've been having worth it, if it helps me get a BFP!
