Red face Tired?

Hi cysters,
I have been on Met for about 2 months, just got a refill, but it came back as Glu. I also just started Diane-35, I seem to be exhausted all the time. I didn't have this problem on the generic version, so has anyone else had this issue with glu? or when they started Diane?? Just curious.. thanks[color=green][font=courier new]

Hi Leahannn! Welcome! I felt very tired when I first started Glucophage and also when I first started Yasmin (I have since stopped taking BCP's altogether). It eventually went away. Actually, now that I think about it, I am much more energetic since I stopped taking Yasmin about 3 weeks ago. Weird. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help but I just wanted to welcome you just the same. We're practically neighbors!

I was tired for close to a year on Met...that feeling is pretty par for the course beginning the drug. I read an article on diabetics that said the unregulated sugars contribute to a lethargy and lack of concentration, so as your sugars and the amt of circulating insulin decreases you will start to feel better. It's amazing how much more energy I have than I used to...I remember waking up and feeling like I could go back to sleep. I'm so glad that feeling passes.

I also found that taking a multi-vitamin helps a lot. If you can take a supplement with vit B, zinc & iron, it should help that feeling.

Feel better soon.

It can be a side effect to feel tired on the drug...my dh said for a couple of months there, it looked like I should crawl right back in bed! But, it will pass. I would also suggest taking a multi-vitamin. I felt much better when I added that to my repertoire!

It might just be a fluke but I woke up today feeling so well rested. I even woke up 15 minutes early (6 instead of 6:15).

I just started met on Wed night 09/24 and wonder if I will enjoy this good result or if it is a fluke?

Mind you though I was struggling daily with terrible terrible tiredness to the point I cut out rudely on dinners and partys with just a "I should go now". What do you do though when the brain fog takes over and you are scared you won't be able to drive home?

I am hoping the met will take the all away for me forever but I have learned to not get my hopes up too much.

Sounds like the MET is doing its job for you, Americanwoman! That's great! I, too, have more energy on MET than off. I understand the tiredness you describe because I have been there before and it sucks. Glad to know you are feeling better so soon!

Julie,

Thanks! I am glad too. I just wish though I would quit "dumping". I am losing my appetite a lot, WEIRD FOR ME.
I actually get full easier. I wonder if this is a fluke.

Please tell me that the dumping will stop soon. I dump about 3 times a day right now.

Oh I remember it well. AM. I hope you get feeling better soon.

I definetly have less of an appetite on Met. Yesterday it dawned on me about 7 pm that I hadn't eaten anything since 11 am....and I had to make myself have a snack. I definetly go through times where I am just not as hungry. When I am O'ing, I make up for it though..I'm ravenous!
