We made it back home at 9:00 last night. We left at 5:30 a.m. After a five hour trip up to Ft Wayne for our interivew, the interview lasted 1 and 1/2 hours and then the trip home.
We are tired, but feeling pretty good about the whole thing. We did find out alot more about Jacob. Still haven't gotten to see a picture, they don't seem to have one on file and hadn't gotten the film processed yet so we could see what he looks like. The case manager said that our continued interest without seeing his picture said something. He was pretty positive and said we sounded like we will make good parents. Not sure if it will happen with Jacob but he is willing to keep us in mind and share our info with other case managers.
We also found out that our homestudy needs to be updated, which we knew and were starting to get ready for. (We've been doing some remodeling) but with this situation we have to have it all done before the end of this month in case we go to selection committee. Our homestudy was done in April of 2004 and even though our license isn't up until September we have to have a homestudy that has been done in the last year. This is the part that worries me, we haven't had the best luck with our local DCFS office.
The remodeling is going to have to get done alot sooner than we planned. But it is basically pulling up carpet and laying new flooring. If we kick it into gear we can get it done in a weekend.
Anyway, we are again living on the decision of a committee of people we don't know to vote on whether we will be good parents or not.
