yes - the past few months I've completely given up on benzol peroxide. I've had pimples since I was 14 and bp cream has always worked for me, but I'm tired of the side effects.
All I've been doing for my acne is putting apple cider vinegar on at night. This dries up the pimples that are there, but doesn't do much to prevent them. My skin looks terrible. The ACV makes my skin very smooth however.
I just don't care anymore. Thinking about trying Insulite to just nip the weight gain/acne/missed periods in the bud. Want to wake up with my metabolism before PCOS, clear skin and a normal cycle.
I find that the more harsh ingredients I use on my face, the worse my acne actually becomes. A lot of people think they have oily skin and that causes acne. Then they use things to suck up the oil and their face just makes more oil and more zits.
Chances are most people with acne have sensitive skin and are treating their face too roughly. I have had the most success using sensitive skin cleansers - Cetaphil Sensitive Skin Antibacterial wash is still my favorite. Purpose also makes a great face bar. You should only use your hands to gently wash your face, no washcloth because they're too rough. Use nothing other than plain old witch hazel as a toner. Then treat acne - I can't use BP because I am sooooooo allergic to it and it just made things worse. Salicylic acid products work best for me, so I use those to spot treat. I also really like the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask - I use it to dry up pimples. Then you have to moisturize with something that won't clog your pores. People think moisturizer equals zits and more oil, but that isn't so. You need moisture!!
Check out acne.org - there is a lot of great info there.

Dont waste your hard earned money on Insulite; it did not change anything in me. I was very dissapointed I wasted my money. It's sad that there are so many people that will exploit women with true medical issues.
As for acne, I use Clean and Clear Acne Kit, and I LOVE IT. The cleanser smells like mint, and gets your face nice and clean, and the acne moisturizer smells like fresh apples, and it keeps acne at bay and clears what you already have, the kit also comes with some spot repair too (it smells like sweet tarts, LOL) but this system works for me. You can get a coupon right now for $5 off the kit, which sells for $19.99 waaaaay better price than proactive and IMHO works waaay better too.

I am new to this site but have been reading the posts for the past couple weeks and decided to join. I have tried everything on the planet and can't seem to get rid of pimples. I tried Proactiv just recently for 1 month and it made my skin so much worse. I didn't break out more but my skin was so dry and it aged me about 10 years. My makeup looked terrible and my face was so red. When I stopped using it this past week I noticed that all my pimples were still there just covered with dry skin. About the only thing that helps is when I use Purpose cleanser or Dove Pro-Age. I have very sensitive skin to BP so harsh cleansers are terrible for that. I think I am allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide. I so wanted the Proaciv to work because I've heard many testimonials that it helps. I am trying Saw Palmetto to see if that will help. I have only been taking it for 2 weeks but don't have too many new pimples so maybe it is working. I also noticed less hair falling out so maybe this is a God send.
My friend used proactive and it worked well for her. My skin isn't that bad so I would never use it. I have a feeling it would dry my skin out completely.
I tried the proactive stuff too for about 4 mos & it never worked at all for me. It seems like the knockoff versions work better & are cheaper & more readily available w/o paying freaking shipping & handling. Jeepnut I use the clean & clear kit too & absolutely love it. Do you buy the actual acne advantage face wash or the continuous control, b/c the one in the kit is actually the continuous control. The advantage facewash by itself is the gel one, but it's too harsh on my skin & dries it out. I love the spot treatment, which usually clears my pimples up in a couple days. Queen Helene Mint Julep mask is also a wonderful product, it clears it up & smells wonderful. I have a hard time finding it though, does anybody know a store that always has it? walmart usually has everything BUT THAT!

i thought about using it.. then i decided not to and decided to use clearisil.. which.. made my face breakout about an hour or so after using it.. so needless to say i don't use that anymore.. good ol' fashion soap and a warm wash cloth for me

While on the BC pill I used Proactiv and my face was pretty good but ever since going off BC pill the last year I have had breakouts every month. I use the Proactiv Advanced Blemish treatment to tackle the breakout areas which seems to help in reducing swelling and making them disappear faster. I do notice that my skin is very dry and am starting to think that perhaps it is time for something different. I just recently heard about Murad and am looking into this.
