hey all...okay...having some problems and want to know if anyone else does...i have problems with my legs hurting real bad sometimes...mostly just aching or pains that just randomly shoot down them. my friend at work says that it could be from the cysts pressing on the nerves to my legs. the other problem i have...and my friend at work has too...is that it doesn't matter how much sleep i get i'm still tired...i feel like i never get enough sleep. let me know what you think...thanks...lots of love...leshia
Being tired is a symptom I believe of PCOS. I definitely have it, although Im trying some new "home" remedies like light therapy. Im always tired.. I'll let you know how the light therapy works. The leg pains, I dunno. I get them when I walk really fast. I was told to eat banannas that it was a potassium thing, but I never did.. Hope that helps!

I got the exact same thing with my period...that and I was told that low iron count cause the same thing which I also have...I usually take a warm bath and that tends to help a bit.

do you think it also affects laziness? like.. i always want to be less lazy and have more motivation.. but how does that happen?? Most times i want to do one thing but then i am too tired or have lack of motivation to do so. It sucks. I never have sharp or shooting leg pains unless they are like growing pains but i do get tired a lot. *hugs*
I used to be more tired more often, but I've lost weight and feel much more energetic.
The only leg pain I get is an occasional charlie horse in my calves. I get those frequently whenever I feel highly stressed. I hate them -- they hurt royally! (They sure get you moving FAST when they start to occur!)
I get the leg pain in my upper thighs right before I start my period. I also had it when I had an ovarian cyst.

As for the painful legs, I could have sworn that I was still getting growing pains! It does seem to be that the more tired I become, the more my legs ache. I occasionally get shooting pains, but it's usually just aches
I havn't tried this for a long time but I remember when I was little and got growing pains, my mum used to wrap my legs up really tight in a blanket and it used to really help, maybe I should try it again.....

It's so ironic that I found this thread right now because after just a brief trip to the grocery store, I am EXHAUSTED and my legs have been killing me for about 3 days now. I usually do this for like a day or 2 before my period starts, so since I've just started Met XR and now I'm waiting to see if my period is going to start on its own (now on like day 35, ugh!) I'm just hoping that this leg stuff and fatigue means its about to start. No such luck yet though :-( I usually find that a warm bath helps alot, but until after I pick my kids up from school I won't have time for one so ibuprofen will have to work for now.
Leg pains and fatigue are also symptoms of Endometriosis. That's what I have. I'm always exhauasted, and have shooting leg pains on and off throughout the month. (Along with just cramps.)
Good Luck in figuring out what it is!!

I have just read in a book (PCOS dietbook) that it could be that we are eating to many carbs and having PCOS and being insulin resistant can make us tired... They said to find the right carbs and eat in moderation and loose weight should help... So I have started to cut back on some carbs and I'm starting to notice a difference... It's a pain too, I love bread, but I have been pretty good at cutting back on it...
Can't help on the legs... I get pains in my legs, but that's from restless leg syndrome...

Big hugs to anyone experiencing these crappy symptoms!
Well, I have Fibromyalgia, so yeah that can affect these kinds of things BUT... I have noticed that when I have been really good with taking all of my supplements and sticking to my diet for a while and then fall off of the wagon these types of symptoms get much worse. The tiredness especially. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.
I just had a long streak of doing well. Two weeks at least of no cheating, not missing a pill, etc. Then I get to MIL's house and she's baked a pumpkin cake just for me I had a nice, small piece, but that was enough. That put me out faster than my prescription sleeping pills! Seriously! Within half an hour I passed out and slept for eight hours straight. Now six hours straight is a good night, four hours is average, eight is unheard of.
The week before AF both the pain and fatigue get much worse.
I wish you ladies all the luck in the world in finding something that helps!
Dana
