Default Tl & Pcos

I'm not really sure where to post this so I thought I would try here.

For those of you that have decided to permanently quit TTC, did you have a tubal ligation performed?

I am due to deliver my 4th & final baby in April & my Dh wants me to get a TL done. My concern with this is that my cycles are such a mess without BCP & won't I still be at risk of other health problems if I am not cycling properly. I think if I need to take the BCP anyways why not just rely on that & forgo the TL.

Just wondering what others have done or will do.

I haven't had one, but I think your concerns are pretty valid. There are plenty of other options for regulating your cycles if you need to, but as long as you're comfortable with BCPs, it's your decision to use them.

I personally wouldn't for a whole variety of reasons, especially because it seems relatively easy to get a screwed up TL, and it can come with a lot of complications. If your DH is worried about permanent BC, has he considered getting a vasectomy himself?

Thanks.

No, DH definately will not have a vasectomy. I think that would be the way to go also but not an option. I have used BCP very successfully in the past so that is what I am leaning towards. I just want to have my options before I make my final decision. I don't have an appt with my Endo until about 2 months after baby comes. I plan to ask my OBGYN at my next appt but I'm not sure if he will have any advice.

I am having a TL in 4 days after DD#2 is born via c-section. My OB/GYN told me that it may make my AF's more regular and help deal with my PCOS sx's. I am not going on BCP's for a while until I see how my body recovers. I trust my OB as he is the one who has been treating my PCOS along with my RE.
