Default TLC tv show "Dying to Give Birth"

I am sure all of us have seen the news stories about women who are stealing babies and now killing women trying to steal their babies. There is now a show on TLC called Dying to Give Birth that is telling these stories.

My point of posting this is that since the most recent case of the woman trying to do the C-section on her neighbor I have had THREE people tell me I better not do that. People who know about my PCOS and infertility think is funny I guess. One of them was actually serious in their concern that I was going to lose my mind and do something like this! I guess I worry that shows like this are going to have people seeing women who face infertility as ''unstable''

I actually know a woman who had faked a pregnancy and had to be "sent away'' when I was a kid...it is scary and thinking that people will think this is something that any woman with fertility problems might do is upsetting to me.

I was just wondering if anyone else saw this and what you think of it?

no i hadn't head of this show. but i did read about those ladies in the paper.

It makes me angry that people could and would see women whom are infertial, or whom are dealing with infertility as unstable. I'm quite sure that thise women who did this evil crime showed signs of instablity already.

I'm sorry you have to put up with stupidity from people around you.

I have been watching it and I don't even know what to say. It is scary to think that someone could be sick enough to fake a pregnancy and do something like that. I have one question... were the husbands not at all into the pregnancy. Did they not wonder why they never saw a sonogram? It's just scary.

Well the person that asked that is a bit coo coo herself so I didn't worry much about it, it just bugged me the genralizations people make.
On the show several of them were having ''problems'' in their marriage...guess that means the husband never saw her naked. I can't say I blame your dh for keeping an eye on you. Ofcourse it is not just during preg. I took my mother in law to the doc to get her flu shot the other day and a woman just got up and walked to the bathroom leaving her baby in the car seat in the lobby??? There are 2 many crazy folks out there to do that.

omg!!! that is nuts! what a shame!

i guess i am kinda rude... i try not to get into anybody's business when it comes to what they do with their kids... however, there was a woman at my dr. office that was lugging her newborn in a carseat, and then i noticed the baby wasn't strapped in... i was like "OMG! that baby isn't stable to begin with, and he could fall out sooooo easily!"(to dh)... finally i guess i couldn't take it anymore, and i asked "shouldn't your baby be buckled in?" ugh... sometimes it's amazing what chances people will take with children... i don't know... i treat them as the most precious cargo i could ever have:-/(but we aren't overly protective about stuff when they are playing fairly safely) lol but then again, i have 2 boys... and my 2 year old is always coming in with a new bruise or cut lol
