This might be TMI for some readers.... Ive been on Yasmin for about 2 years, my doc had me take a break in May to see if “my body would remember AF on its own…” Well of course that didn’t happen!! But down to my real question… Every month I take the week of white (sugar, placebo) pills. And I get a “AF” …then by the time I need to start a new pack of pills, AF is pretty light...then I take the first pill of the new pack…and AF goes on overdrive!!! Usually even heavier than my first day of regular AF. That lasts about 36 hours, and by then ive taken the next night’s pill. So it takes me two, sometimes three, days into the next pack to be over AF. Is that normal?...does anyone else have that same thing?
Does anyone know why this happens…is it PCOS? Or is my body just confused? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Do you have an endocrinologist that you see? If not, I would definitely try to get an appointment with one. Your endo will run tests to check your hormone levels and thyroid and specializes in hormone problems including deficiencies, their office can check your levels throughout the month to see how your levels may fluctuate and then base a diagnosis upon those findings. If you tell your doctor what tests you want to have run when your blood work is done, and your insurance covers it, they can't deny you that option. I hope that you get well soon.

I don't know why this happens, but it happens to me, too. I don't get AF until my second-to-last day or last day of inactive pills/7 day break but then it continues on while I'm on active pills.
Let's see if I can be more clear (sorry, long day!) I'm a Sunday start. My last pill is on Saturday. I won't get AF until Friday or Saturday following. I start my new pack on Sunday and AF ends Tuesday or Wednesday.
I've told my docs this and they haven't seemed too concerned. So I have no answers but am in a similar boat!

The longer I'm on BCP (Ortho Tri-Cyclen), the more days I have to wait each month for AF to come after I start on my placebos. And my period is still there when I start my next pack. My overlap isn't as drastic as yours, though.

Thanks for all the advice! You cysters are the best!
-No i dont have an endo...it was hard enough for any docotor to figure out what was wrong with me that by the time i got my Dx i was so done with stupid know it all docs. But im thinking i should start going to and Endo soon. I just know that with PCOS and not TTC (right now) the many doc.'s i saw had almost not interest in helping me because my biggest probs. were weight and acne and AF which they fixed w/ BCP's
-its comforting to know that im not the only one who gets AF past the new pack. Thanks ladies!
-I also am pretty sure i O on Yasmin...I know thats not supposed to happen but i get egg white CM almost everymonth around that time..so im really thinking i O...does anyone know...can our body produce egg white CM and not O? Are they a pair?...or can you get it w/o Oing?

I don't know if one has anything to do with the other, but I do know what you mean. (supposed to be why opk can show a slight + even when it's not b/c our levels are higher than the average woman) maybe we have the same when it comes to o symptoms.
