My Mood: Points: 2,992.49 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,992.49 | I had something similar happen to me a few years ago. I didn't have health insurance and didn't go to the hospital...although I probably should have. I ended up being weak and sick for a couple weeks afterwards. I'll be interested to find out what the lab says this was. Sorry you had to go through so much pain and now such a wait.

My Mood: Points: 9,468.48 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 9,468.48 | Ok guys the wait is over. My doc knew I wanted the results as soon as possible and she called me on her vacation. She talked with me for at least half an hour about my situation. So here goes.....I had what is called a "desidual cast" (no clue if I spelled that right). My entire lining just fell out of my body at one time. She said the reason for such pain and bleeding is same as when you are pregnant. The uterus is contracting and you push something out. I know that is so gross. Anyway, I am still bleeding into my second week. We are hoping that the BCP I am on will finally work this month. I start active pills again on Sunday. So, then we talked about my recent bloodwork. Finally an explanation from a competent doctor. I have what is known as "hypothalamic amenorrhea" (sorry about the spelling again). Apparently my brain doesnt send the correct signals for my body to make the correct mix of hormones. Therefore I rarely if ever have a real cycle. Most of my cycles are annovulatory. I have scant amounts of nearly every hormone but not enough to do anything with. My estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone are low. My LH/FSH are low as well. So even though my estrogen is low, my progesterone is even lower. This causes my lining to build up and become unstable. Then it just sheds. So, I have no big choices here. I have to be on either BCP or Progesterone until Menopause. My body just cannot do things on its own. We chose to stick with BCP for now because I also have other issues that the BCP helps. I tell you what...that was so scary and painful. Let's hope that doesnt happen again to me or to anyone else. I have been very weak and sick past few days after that event. Hoping this goes away soon. Again....thank you everyone for being here for me. You all are great!!!!!

That is awesome of your doctor to talk to you like that, so many doctors are so careless and just tell you what is and that is that. I too have a doctor who is willing to take the time to explain what is what and answer all of my questions to my satisfaction. I hope you feel better soon and that you don't have another episode like this.
