My Mood: Points: 11,800.60 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,800.60 | Hi there and welcome!
I am thin too, but you can still have PCOS. I was diagnosed based on labwork showing messed up LH/FSH levels and an ultrasound showing polycystic ovaries.
You can be healthy and have babies with PCOS. This is a great site with lots of info and support. The best thing to do is become educated on this disorder and find a competent doctor who specializes in PCOS. The Savvy Woman's Guide to PCOS by Elizabeth Lee Vilet is a great book to start with.
Best of luck to you!

it's so true, I think we would find it hard to find another cyster with the exact same symptoms. for eg., i get periods too regularly, but do not o, and I haven't come across many others in same boat. but then I can list off a tonne of symptoms that seem pretty common with pcos - hair, weight issues, poss. insulin resistance/type 2 diabetes, cysts on ovaries on u/s... I take heart that when I come to this web site, there seem to be so many women that have been ttc and are actually successful - maybe that's why i am sure, one day, my dh & I will have a baby of our own... although we are only newly dx'ed and yet to see our reproductive specialist as to what road to take.. but fingers & toes crossed he will have some answers & options!! good luck & lots of baby dust for all ttc!! |

My Mood: Points: 2,651.24 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,651.24 | Welcome! I'm a too. I'm also, as my doc called it, a lean PCOS w/very little symptoms. Each case is unique and I really consider myself lucky because I've read some symptoms on here that are truly scary.
Once your doc finds the best meds for you, you can get pg and live a normal, healthy, happy life.

Points: 533.71 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 533.71 | just a query! no sorry confusion?????????? is it true that women with pco cannot have children until they start taking pills prescribed by a doctor or gynaecologist. last week wednesday i got diagnosed with pco, and my doctor asked me to meet a gynaecologist, and after checking different hospitals with a long waiting list i have found one to go to on the 14 th of july. but i am just wondering if i can still keep trying or is there no hope of having a baby without taking the medicines that would be prescribed to me. at the moment i have begun to take supplements. 4 tablets, one is vitamin c and zinc, second one is folic acid, third one is cod liver oil and fourth is evening primrose oil. it says on the bottles of some them that please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. but because i am with pco, will it cause any problem to me if i take these supplements as i am trying for a baby. i would like to do anything to have a baby, but dont know whats right or wrong? they say just be positive and the body will release no stress hormones and you could get pregnant. i think positively at all times but dont know how serious is pco?
can anyone get back to me about this? i really would appreciate all your advice. then i have read and been told about taking cinnamon and honey and one day i would definitely have a baby. cinnamon is from the spice family of india, and i would like to find out is it a spice that causes a lot of heat in the body? so is it good or bad?
i have begun to walk more often than before so that i get all the exercise as it says you must exercise and eat healthy.
will all these help me to have a baby?
so let me know your thoughts, to all the girls out there.
i am 33 years and my husband is 31.
i am 5 feet 4 inches, and 62 kgs. |

My Mood: Points: 11,800.60 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,800.60 | It really depends on you...some women conceive without meds, some use natural remedies, and others need medications to conceive. It partially depends on whether you O and get AF on your own. Some women with PCOS do, and it may just be irregular, but others (like me) never do and need meds to make that happen. Others need their insulin resistance treated. You can always try on your own for a bit and then see a doc if it doesn't work.
