Not only that, but I just received a HORRIBLE email from my cousin!!! She has a friend that was called at work an hour ago, to come ASAP to the children's hospital.... his 5 month old daughter, is on lifesupport... she was SHAKEN by her mothers boyfriend. She has made every excuse possible, and blamed so many people, that the police believe she is just as guilty.

Brionna, has terrible swelling on her brain, and will likely die. Only 5 months old... perfect and healthy, and in a violent rage,... it was shaken from her. UGH!!!!!!!!!

I feel so sick, I am crying and I am ANGRY!!!!! HOW IN THE HELL DO PEOPLE GET TO HAVE BABIES, WHEN THEY JUST ALLOW THEM TO BE HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would sell everything I owned, I would go to the ends of the earth and back, just to have one single HEALTHY, LIVING child of my own! Yet, here I am.... should be 3 months pregnant, happily anticipating my baby's arrival and future.... but instead my womb is empty, and my arms just ache. *sighs*

Honey its hard and you feel like no one understands anything your going through. I should have been two months preg right now but am not. This is the second I have lost and it is frusterating and hurtful and you think of all the should haves but you just have to keep going. you be upset and greive but you keep going. Hang in there

Today wasn't too bad, I've felt sad... but I managed through just fine. Tomorrow is a new day, and I am hoping for a happier outlook.

Here is an update on Brionna!!!! I will C&P from the email, so I don't have to retype it all....

Brionna is doing better, but is still in Pediatric ICU. The swelling in her brain has decreased significantly, but is still there. They have stopped the bleeding as well. Her heart did stop for a brief period of time, so there was a lack of oxygen to the brain which did kill some brain cells. They aren't sure at this point how much damage has been done... to some degree only time will tell on that part of it. She also had some seizures while she was at the hospital. The doctors though are telling Nate that they have seen much worse come in and still make it to leave the hospital with little to no trouble and they don't foresee Brionna being any different.

Please pray for her full recovery... ***HUGS***

well im glad to hear she is recovering. slowly but surely! hope she does even better and recovers 110%. as for the loss of brain cells, hopefully it didnt do too much damage.

Thanks Kim - Everyone, but I am pretty sure all of the "symptoms" I am feeling is AF related.

Anyway, here is an update about Brionna... for those of you following her story.... Again, C&P'd from the email.

Brionna has had a set back with her brain swelling again on Friday evening. They have determined that the incident that caused this happened on Monday, so there was a delay in getting her to the hospital. Which more than likely made things much worse for her, since they may have been able to prevent the seizures, that she is suffering from now. When her heart stopped Tuesday night, that may have not happened with earlier treatment.

They have also determined with 99% certainty, that it is the MOTHER that did this to her and are looking to Nate (the father) to set up where she will go once she is released from the hospital. He is wanting her to go to his aunt who has medical training and is familiar with the equipment and medications that Brionna would potentially still be needing once out of the hospital.

The doctors are still confident that she could make a complete recovery, but until they know for sure how much damage has been done and is continuing to happen from the seizures that are still happening, they don't know how much it will affect her later on as she develops into a young lady and on into adulthood. With all the medical breakthroughs that are happening daily though, even a poor prognosis now doesn't mean that she will be like that for the long run.

She has had some hopeful signs such as responding to visual stimulus when they were checking her eyes, loosening of her limbs to have more natural movement, responding to her father's voice and so on, but they are trying to keep the stimulus to a minimum at this point so that it doesn't impede her progress by stressing her too much... even if it is good stress, it's more than she needs at this point.

A few of you have asked about the home situation. Brionna's mother left her father about 2 1/2 weeks after she was born so Nate has had very limited contact with Brionna since that point. He had feelings that the situation wasn't the best for his daughter, but didn't realize how much of it was potential problems for the future, and how much of it was just resentment that she wasn't with him all the time anymore. He was preparing for going to court for the court ordered visitation and such when this happened which means that he had documented a lot of things that he may not have had without having this preparation already in progress.

With this documentation, he was able to show arguments where the mother had tried to deny him the opportunity to spend time with Brionna, dates when Brionna came to him with bruises on her, which he had been told were from a toy falling on her, but later found out where from the mother trying to force her to eat by placing her hand on Brionna's cheeks and forcing her mouth open. He worried that having all of this would make him seem too prepared for an event such as this and would have them looking at him, but thankfully, the police and social worker saw it for what it was... a father trying to look out for the best interest of his child.

wtf. that mother is a bich!! seriously. that is sooooo sad. well i hope brionna gets better soon. and i hope her father is doing ok.

what "evidence" has caused it to be blamed on the mother now, instead of the mothers boyfriend? i swear, its women like her who give us bad names. ugh. stupid bitc h. grrrr.

I am so sorry to hear this, and at times like these all you can do is pray and hope for the best. Sounds like she is doing better though, which is great considering the situation. I AM here to support you and your tough times. With that being said. I pray for Brionna.
