Today (my 28th birthday) DH and I officially start the adoption process!!! I"m so excited!! We've done all of our research and decided that we would like to adopt a baby girl from Guatemala.
I have spent the past month doing research and gathering info., so now we can start filling out paperwork and complete our homestudy.
I know its going to be a bumpy road at times, but I also know it will be totally worth it in the end!

A fellow teacher at my school started the process for guatemala- in March and their little girl is already HOME! took less than FIVE MONTHS! (have to admit- i was jealous, mad, angry, happy, depressed- rollercoaster) to think my little joel had to wait 13 months to come home... (stupid Hauge treaty)

I'm so extremely thrilled for you. The children of Guatemala are just beautiful (of course I'm bias ). The process can seem long and trying at times, but before you know it you'll be holding your precious little girl.
Plus, when you do need support, the great sisters here are awesome!

Thanks for all of your good wishes! They are appreciated. My mom and step-dad still haven't quite come around on the idea of me adopting. They don't get why I don't want to continue with fertility medications or more advanced treatments. But I"m hoping as I talk about the process with them, (and I know once they see a picture of my baby) they will come around eventually.
