Question Too good to be true?

I woke up at 4am and tested (after about 5 and a half hours of not peeing)... I tried to stay asleep, but I keep waking up in the middle of the night. Anyway, since my chart is a bit wonky, I'm not sure exactly when I O'd, but I think I am either 10 or 12 dpo. The first test was a Dollar Tree test and while I thought I saw a really faint line while it was developing, it seemed pretty negative to me when all was said and done. So I figured I'd try another test... this time I used an IC (babywishes brand) and it had a very faint line that *might* be considered a bfp (who knows... it did get darker after the time limit, so now it definitely looks bfp, but I know that doesn't count). So I was confused and tried yet another test... this time an IC from early-pregnancy-test.com. That one came back bfn (keep in mind this is all the same urine). So I did another IC from babywishes (same lot #) and it was the same as the first... a faint line.

Do you think it's just a fluke that I'm getting faint lines on 1 particular brand of test? Wouldn't all of them be positive if I'm pg? I am afraid to get my hopes up. I will note that I have used these same tests all week and never had a faint bfp on the babywishes IC within the time limit before... although I did have some evaps come up after the time limit.

They wouldn't all necessarily be positive it all depends on their sensitivity. I would call your Dr and get a blood test. Also if you want try a digital test and see what you get on that.

Hope its a true positive for you!

ooooo.... sounds good to me. Individual tests can have better/worse sensitivity. Even the same brand and lot can have variance.

Test again tomorrow, but it sounds like a BFP! I hope this is it for you!!!

OK here's an update of sorts. Of course I went and dug the tests out of the trash... the 2 that were very faint bfp's before the time limit are now blaring bfp's (I know I know... whatever happens after the 10 minutes doesn't count but still lol). The Dollar Tree test (which I originally thought I saw a line on but then didn't see one) now has a VERY faint line which I assume is an evap. What are the chances I'm getting evaps on 2 different brands of tests with the same pee?

I know about the whole 'time limit' business, but as long as the line has color (i.e. not an evap) - I think you have a bfp. I am so nervous/excited for you!

Test again tomorrow!!!

Even if it turned darked after the listed time, its gotta be a BFP! When I got my bfp I went the next day and confirmed it at the dr, instead of me wasting more HPT's. in my experience, when it was negative, it never turned positive no matter how long it sat. but if it was positive it turned darker.
Congratulations ! I have to beleive you are preggers!!!!!

I have experienced a "false positive" when I've dug an HPT out of the trash after several hours, as has my bff.

That being said, if the thing started out with a line, and the line got darker, that's a totally different story. I'd say you are pg!!

I can post a picture, but I'm not sure if there would be a point to me doing that since it's been several hours now and so the test wouldn't be considered valid technically. There's a definite line on both of the IC's from babywishes, though... and a line that's so faint it looks like an evap on the Dollar Tree test (would never show up in a scan) and I can even see what looks like an evap on the other brand of IC at this point as well. Still, since it's so far after the original test, I don't put a lot of weight on these lines... I just hope I get a bunch of bfp's tomorrow morning!

Let me see what I can come up with...

OK here they are... I don't know why it's so much harder to tell once they're scanned, but oh well! I'll include a negative image of it as well... not that I know what that means, but people seem to do it a lot so maybe it means something LOL Hopefully the pics won't be too big for the forum... if they are, please let me know and I'll delete them and post smaller ones.
