When I was initially diagnosed with PCOS in 1996, I had a reproductive endocrinologist who knew very little about it. She never even mentioned or checked for hyperinsulinemia. When I asked her about treatment for the hirsutism, she told me to shave. I had already tried waxing, tweezing, and creams and none of them worked on the short, course hair. So I have had to shave my cheeks, chin, and neck daily. This has been very embarrassing for me and I'm looking for some other options that aren't expensive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to soul cysters.

I know how horrible shaving is. I also have to do it everyday. Have you been able to get some Spiro? As that helps with getting rid of some of the excess hair.
