Default Too much Metformin?

Last Summer I had a lot of PCOS symptoms.. hair loss, weight gain, facial hair, skin tags. When I saw an Endo in October, he started me on 1000mg of Metformin.

Within a week, the symptoms started straightening back up. Hair loss stopped, weight gain slowed, etc.

In January, I started taking Atenolol. I was not aware of this, but Atenolol can negate the effectiveness of Met. When my symptoms started to come back, I blamed not being on *enough* metformin, and my doc let me try 1500mg. But a nurse friend pointed out the interaction, and I stopped, and stuff started resolving itself.

But, now I wonder if I am on too much Met. My blood sugar always seems to dive, and now my hair loss is holding at a medium rate.

Any thoughts on this - do you all think that *too much* met could be causing hair loss? Would it be worth trying 1000mg again?
