Topical Iodine for hair growth

Hi all

I was just searching around about hair loss treatments & I came across these 2 threads on another message board. Apparently topical use of white iodine might be able to grow hair. I'm not sure if it will help with AA but I'm gonna try it tomorrow. Anyone ever heard of this?

I read those too and found them very interesting indeed. So since Ive tried it all with little or no success I thought to myself "heck, why not this too"..so I bought some last week. I had to go to a little mom/pop drug store for the big commercial ones wont carry it and when you ask them to order it they look at you like you asked for something from the black market.(giggles) so the wee little place had it right there on the counter. I wisked home and started immediately to use it at night like she did in the post. After 3 days I have yet to inspect my head for new growth but one thing I am seeing is a change in the way my hair is looking? Before it was limp, lifeless, and really looked the part of being thin. Now its bouncey, full and shines..(imagine that?) I only dab it on with a cotton ball on the areas of thinning and that just mean my male pattern balding areas get a good dabble..(giggles) I go to bed and in the morning as I shower when the warm water hits it I smell the oder strongly but shampoo makes quick work of that and soon all I smell is my shampoo. I will keep you posted on my results and let you know if I see any new growth. Ive asked about to see if anyone else has heard of this too or is trying it. Hi there! Thanks for responding. I saw your thread, it had very good info. I also had to go to a small store to find it. I got a small bottle for 2 bucks. I took a marker & marked off a spot on my head where I apply the iodine. No new growth yet, but I'm gonna keep doing it. Heck, even if it takes months to work I won't mind, just as long as it works. I haven't smelled anything, (except the marker ha, ha), & it's not sticky or oily like some products can be. I'm glad to hear about the improvements you've had so far - that's great! I'm wishing for all of us that this works! The second I notice any improvement, I'll post about it. Lots of luck to you!
