Topomax

What has been your experience with Topomax? I went to a different dr. and he was concerned about my weight. I am taking Verapamil for migraines and have taken it for a couple of years now. The dr. indicated that Topomax was for migraine prevention, but had a side effect of being an appetite suppressant. I haven't taken it yet, but I plan to take it tonight for the first time. Any comments or opinions?

Topomax is not too bad. I've taken it for Bipolar issues. But be warned, it is knicknamed "dopomax" for a reason. I had trouble formulating sentences. If you would like more information on it, there is a website "ask a patient" dot com that people go to and rate their meds and side effects. Hope that helps.
