Hey Canadian Cysters
There was a thread somewhere else in the board about where to do laser hair removal in Toronto, but I can't find that thread, so I'm starting this new one. Hopefully this will help some of you living in T.O. thinking about laser hair removal!
I went for a first laser hair removal treatment at Medikka Clinic about a week ago (
www.medikkaclinic.com). I have been very happy with them so far, and would give them a positive recommendation.
I found the laser treatment itself to be VERY painful

, but I think I just have very low tolerance to pain. They put an anesthetic cream on my face and that made it a little better. Because of how painful I was finding it, they used a very low setting on the laser. So, I figured that I shouldn't expect much hair loss. Then today, before bed, I went to wash my face. I was using one of those disposable exfolatiating anti-acne cloths, and when I looked at it after scrubbing my face, there was hair all over it!! It just kept falling out. It was very exciting - I'm sure all you ladies who have also struggled for years with facial hair will understand.
Oh, as to redness, my face was back to normal an hour after the treatment. Walking home in the cold probably helped, as did the very low setting of the laser.
I still have lots of facial hair left that wasn't killed by the treatment. (I can tell because some of the hairs are painful if I try to pluck them). But I can't wait to go back, suffer through a higher setting on the laser, and get rid of enough of it that I won't have to shave every morning any more.
Anyways, if anybody has any questions about Medikka, just let me know!
