I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this one, but here goes. I have been anovulatory sine age 14 or so, on BCP forever, have had maybe one or two natural periods in my life since then- am now 39. Got pregnant with IVF and delivered in 8/06. Have been breastfeeding ever since. Obviously, the breastfeeding has slowed alot (my son is now 2.5 y.o., and week before last I started having pinkish streaks and lots of cramping, felt just like a period, but without the blood- this went on for 3 days, finally, the brownish gunk started, very light though. That went on for a week. Now it's stopped, but half way into it, I got VERY cranky and am now hyper-irritable and bloated and am eating everything in site.
Was that a period?
I am confused. I did do a preg. test just to be sure, it was negative.

I had fairly regular, but non-ovulatory cycles with periods monthly up until having my son in 2006. (got pregnant with clomid) I breastfed for 11 months and didn't have a single period until after he stopped breastfeeding, then I slowly started to get them again--light at first, and then heavier. I actually did ovulate for the first time on my own after having been pregnant, but in retrospect they must have been poor quality since I have been ttc for over a year now with no results. But I do think being pregnant changes the hormone balance in your body, so there's no telling what will happen afterwards.
