I was told by a friend that Clomid messes with your temperature so doing basal body temp isn't accurate on Clomid, and that Clomid can mess with the OPK results.
Does anyone know this to be true? I know the OPK doesn't work for some people but does Clomid cloud results for either of these methods?
If so then how the heck do you know if you O???????

**Round 3: Clomid 100mg, O'D and BFP!
**BFP on 6/23/07!! EDD 2/27/08**
**8/13/07 HB at doctor's office
**8/28/07 HB on home Doppler approximately 155 bpm!
**10/19/07 Ultrasound looked good, quad tests came back negative! (Baby's gender is a surprise!)

You can still chart bbt and use opk's. Your chart might look a little different than a non-Clomid cycle, but you should still be able to see the rise when you O. I don't know of any reason why Clomid would effect an opk. If they worked for you before they should work now. Even if they didn't work for you before they might work while on Clomid. You can also chart other fertility signs like cervical mucus and cervical position. Some doctors will have you come in around CD21 for a progesterone test. While that's considered a more accurate way of verifying ovulation who wants to wait that long. Good luck!

i had no problems doing temp or opks ... i always got a clear O on fertility friend ... but it can mess with you'r CM

Agreed--it's different for everyone. OPKs do work for me, but I once got a false +. My doctor monitors me with follicle scans at cd14 and again on the day of the OPK+.

It's possible that the opk + was accurate (you did have an LH surge), but it didn't result in ovulation. I could always tell when I was annovualtory becuase I would have several runs of +opks. My body kept trying to O, but just couldn't get there. That's why opks are most effective if combined with charting or a CD21 progesterone test. You ideally want a hint that the O is coming (opk's, CM, CP) and the confirmation that it happened (temp shift, CD21 progesterone test).

I have a standing order for progesterone blood work so I will go for a test on CD21. What should progesterone levels look like at this point? And will this tell me that I DID ovulate or I WILL ovulate? Sorry, I get so confused with this!
