Don't worry, you'll be fine! The station you change at in Edinburgh would be the same one you get next train from. You can double check by calling National Rail Enquiries - 08457 48 4950 and ask them to talk you through all the times.

Write down all the arrival times, and departure times and work out how much time you have to change at each station. When you have it all written down it'll make you feel better.

You should be fine if you have enough time between stops to find your next train.

You won’t be as bad as my friend… we went to Denmark in August, both on different days, I went first and at Copenhagen train station in the airport we where to board a train to take us over the bridge in Sweden to a place called Växjö. I did it perfectly, took about 2.5 hours.

The next day I found her hotel and promised to meet her off the train in Växjö, so she texted me when she landed in Copenhagen! Texted me again on the train, no worries.

Just as I was making may way to the station to meet her I get a frantic call, she was so busy reading her newspaper on the train that she didn’t notice she got the wrong train, instead of the train heading into Sweden she was half way around Denmark! Her first remark was “I can see a lot of Danish flags I think I got the wrong train!”

Turns out she’d gone nearly 2 hours into the middle of Denmark and had to travel all the way back first class since the train was full – cost her a fortune!

… the ironic thing was I actually thought she would do something so daft!

Enjoy your trip to Scotland!
