It's not an uncommon symptom, given our crazy PCOS imbalances.
Coming off the pill, I found that I'd go several months without a period, and then shift over a couple of months into a pattern of almost constant spotting/bleeding. PCOS-related estrogen dominance can cause our uterine linings to build up extra thick, and then we can have more shedding of blood, without ever completely shedding the thick lining. Or at least, that's how the physician explained it to me.
I recently read on this forum that vitex might help. Natural progesterone cream is another possibility. I've had really good luck from acupuncture since going off the pill in March. My cycle is by no means normal, but I've had somewhat regular periods. |
