Default treatment for too much menstruation

Hi guys!
I just got off birth control pills(for good i hope) and I am getting myself prepared for the problems that I had before. I am sure they will all come back with a vengeance in a couple weeks. I just started inositol and choline. I am planning to take licorice and peony for acne and what not. any success with licorice? Other than that, is there any natural remedy to combat heavy/frequent periods? Before birth control I got my period every two weeks sometimes. Or I would get my period for 10-14 days. Any herbs for that? =)
Also, is that normal for pcos? I always hear about people NOT getting their period.

It's not an uncommon symptom, given our crazy PCOS imbalances.

Coming off the pill, I found that I'd go several months without a period, and then shift over a couple of months into a pattern of almost constant spotting/bleeding. PCOS-related estrogen dominance can cause our uterine linings to build up extra thick, and then we can have more shedding of blood, without ever completely shedding the thick lining. Or at least, that's how the physician explained it to me.

I recently read on this forum that vitex might help. Natural progesterone cream is another possibility. I've had really good luck from acupuncture since going off the pill in March. My cycle is by no means normal, but I've had somewhat regular periods.
