For me, my Dr advised met, exercise and a diet that regulated my insulin. The reason for this is that insulin affects testosterone and androgens. It worked really well for me. My test. is in normal ranges now and has been for a couple of years...I've axctually been able to cut my met dosage by 1/3 and still keep it regulated.
If you are not comfortable on the pill, don't do it..simple as that. You and your dr have to agree on your treatment, and if you want to treat the problem instead of the symptoms, you have every right to say so.
