I'm not IR, but Metformin is the only thing that helped me conceive. We had gone through all the options and the next step would have been IVF. Even though you're wife isn't IR, Met has been shown to reduce the miscarriage rate in women with PCOS. I had to change doctors when I moved. The new ones were insistant that I start Metformin for that reason, even with our IVF plans. Luckily the Metformin worked on its own.
