I have always had trouble losing weight but now it seems that the more I gain the harder it is to lose. Anyone else having problems? Specific things that have helped any of you in the battle with weight? I am getting more and more frustrated and I need ideas! Thanks Ladies!
Let me take you through the last four years of my life. At 16 I was at 90 kgs. As the years have gone by, I have maintained the weight, and added two kgs to the total number every year. Thats it, only 2 kgs! Seems odd!
The body system of everyone is different, but yes the more weight you put on, for me the harder it seems it is to lose it. However, mostly from what I have seen, the minute I put in genuine effort, the change begins to happen.
Maybe you should not check your weight very often. Concentrate on maintaining the exercise frequency and monitor your diet.
It's the PCOS curse! I workout and eat very healthy. I am on the highest dose of Met and still no weight loss. Oh maybe a pound here or there but not a good amount. When I lost weight before I did NO carbs and when I say NO carbs I mean it and I worked out at Curves 3-5 days a week. Since getting married I havent been disciplined enough to do it again.

Malaurakm- Isn't it relieving to know there are so many other girls and women struggling with this? It's motivation enough for me to know I'm not the only one having an extremely hard time losing weight. Good luck to you too
Fat&Sassy- I'm on Metformin too, it's not even helping with my menstrual cycle, not at all with weight loss. I unfortunately can't afford a gym membership. I'm 18 years old, can't find a job, and I'm about to go to college. Times are tough! I do have an exercise bike though. For how long did you work out a day?
have you guys had your thyroid checked or been checked for Cushings?

I gained over 60 pounds in less than a year. I didn't know why. I figured out it was the pcos, IR, and another problem. I'm hoping the metformin will allow me to loose easier.
I was on the swim team swiming about 14 miles a day, eating only 800 calories, I still didn't lose!
It's actually discouraging for me, because from what I read, not many women who have PCOS but no insulin/thyroid/other underlying causes of weight gain are actually able to lose. My biggest fear is staying where I'm at or, worse, becoming one of the 50% of women with PCOS who are obease. 6 months ago, I was 110 pounds and healthy, now I'm 140 pounds, which is awful on a 5'3" body, and I eat around 1200 calories, lowcarb, high protein, and I exercise daily. I'm becoming VERY discouraged and taking Yaz is definately not helping my depression. What can I do?? Is there ANY way to lose weight?? I want answers so bad!!! :'(
you guys, try a LOW GI DIET. I tried SO hard to lose weight and it never worked. Since I've started a low GI diet, I've lost 14 pounds! Gained back a few over Passover last week... but that's okay because it was a holiday. Research a Low GI diet, please. it's perfect for PCOS.
I personally have never spoken to anyone about my pcos, only my mum and sister no. However sometimes i get the feeling that they try to understand but don't really.
I myself weight alot and find it really hard to loose weight. I am a vegetarian and eat the same as my family yet i put the pounds on!! i can look at a piece of cake and put the weight on for it! recently i hav started met which hasn't really helped me loose any weight but maybe its early days. I have also started exercising for the last couple of months and have managed to loose around 10lbs. which im really pleased about but sometimes it doesn't feel enough, considering i feel like i live at the gym. I now do 5 hrs minimum at the gym a week!! But i think if you keep at it u can achieve a weight loss and u will meet new people and generally feel beta about your self. Even if i haven't lost masses of weight my confidence has increased and yes there are chocolate days, but we are all human.
I no it is possible to loose weight, we all have to just persevere!! I personally want to try a low G.I diet however as im a veggie food always seems soooo limited already!
I wanna lose weight too.
I don't have an exercise machine and I hate going to the park inthe kind of weather we have in this city - hot and humid.
Moreover, I love food. I can't stop hogging on fast food. And I'm inconsistent with diet plans. I wish there was something that could just make me lose all the weight i've gained over the past two years.
Wow, I'm the complete opposite! I exercise every day and I LOVE it! The only junk food I ever let myself have is marshmallows and its usually only four or five a day (about 100 calories). I have been doing the low GI diet and have been on metaformin for 2 weeks and I still haven't lost any weight...any suggestions?
