I just got back from seeing my obgyn for my annual visit and am totally bummed out now. I told him I am finally getting my af now using herbs (vitex/DQ) and my cycles are 47/49 days. He said if I ovulate at all it wouldn't be until day 30+ and that is way to late to ovulate//to conceive?? is this true--I thought it didn't matter?? I was so happy to finally be getting af--now I am upset to think I might not o or if I do it is way to late.
I think your Dr has misled you a little! While a late O may mean your little eggie may be hobbling down your fallopian tube with a cane, it does not mean that it is not fertilizeable! (Is that even a word?) Late O can mean a poorer quality egg, but that does not mean it is totally useless! There are plenty of cysters who O'ed late and went on to have happy, healthy little bundles of joy!
It is kind of a funny thought, huh? For a few of my really long cycles, I had this picture of a granny egg in a wheelchair, with a blanket over its shoulder! Giving myself something to laugh at was the only thing that got me through some days!
I am proof that you can get pregnant O'ing late. I O'ed on CD65 an got pregnant. Unfortunately I miscarried at 10.5 weeks so I don't know whether there is connection there or not.
My last cycle I O'ed on CD26 so its an improvement!
i concieved my son two years ago on CD 120 or so (it was around 4 months after my last af). the importebd thing is, that you have 12 to 14 days between o and af, so the muscos have enough time to built themselves up so the little egg can settle in. did you ever think of checking your temps, 'cause than you'd know.
good luck
