I am not doing to well today. But this is my story im sure most of you are familar with me and my story. Well last month my DB and I had unprotected sex. On the 12th of this month I went to the gyn for a regular check-up. She then put me on provera so I could get AF and get started w/ BCP. She did do a urine pg test but came back neg. I started taking the provera 2 times a day for 5 days on the 9th.
While I was on provera I had unprotected sex again. I know that you are suppose to wait 2 to 14 days until AF comes and I usually get it by the second day that I am on it. So I waited and waited and waited. Then I finally started cramping really, really bad but not AF. I started feeling very tired, naueous, urinating frequently, and breast were very sore on the 16th.
Finally after 2 days of bad cramping I started spotting which lasted 2 days then it got unusually heavy by the 3rd day. I has a few clots that came out and was unbelievable pain. Usually my cycle ends in 3-4 days or lightens up and it has not done neither. This is day 4 and I am still cramping not as bad as i did and my flow is still heavy. Could I have been pg since there was not blood test done? (stupid doctor) Could I have m/c?
BTW, I did tell my doctor and she said everything is normal despite this has never happened before! I have been on provera twice before and have never been through this. I have made an appt. with my PCP and she said that it sounds like I could have miscarried and she wants me 2 wait 2 weeks before she can do an ultrasound on me.

It does sound to me like your doctor is right and this is normal. Your test was negative, people do have false negatives but it's not very common. Af came in the "normal" range of time from provera. As far as the heavy flow and cramping its common for induced AF. But not every one will be the same.
Thanks for answering!!! Any other advice would be greatly appreciated

I am not TTC. I do prevent by using condoms and BCP but I would rather get meds that help my PCOS and BCPs is not doing it!

Have you tried Metformin? It works for many women with PCOS. I think you need a 1500MG-2000MG dose and it takes a few months for it to get into your system.
Some other meds are
Actos
Avanida
They are all diabeties/IR meds that DO work for PCOS (I think Met is the first one approved by FDA for PCOS).
You and your doctor will have to find a dose that works for you. Find a doctor that KNOWS a LOT about PCOS (usally and RE, sometimes they treat PCOS issues also not just fertility).
Low carb diet, and daily 45+ min exercise has also been know to help keep PCOS women regular.
No, I have not taken Metformin. I have been seeing my gyn and she thinks that i just need to stay on BCPs but I fel like I need something else. I am going to see my PCP on the 8th of May and hopefully she will know what she is talking about. If not, I will be going to an Endo!
