Unhappy the truth about SPI?

Hi,

I have taken SPI during last cycle but I just threw my capsules into the bin.

Where did you initially find out SPI might be of help? I have found only negative info about it, neither my doc (specialist in female infertility) nor my homeopath suggested soy. Actually my doc told me to avoid SPI because of the cancer risk.

Here some articles you might want to browse:
http://www.parentsplace.com/expert/n...112153,00.html
http://www.cfs.purdue.edu/extension/efr/efr9-15.htm
http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/soydangers.htm
http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/infert.htm

The positive articles I found, were mostly dated before 1998, which makes them old news for me. What do you think? Please provide me with contrary info sources, if possible?

Nylon, _very_ concerned

Hey Nylon,

I know this was discussed in the original SPI thread. Paula posted an answer that I agree with.
There health risks associated with soy, but if yoy take a limited amount for a number of days, in order to reach a desired result there shouldn't be a problem. Personally the only time I consume soy is CD 5-9. I avoid it for the rest of the month.
A good analogy is licorice root, that should not be taken for long periods of time because of the high blood pressure risk.
You may want to search for the full answer given on the original SPI thread, it is a little more scientific if I remember correctly.

HTH,
Oshrat
