Default Trying to figure something out...

Okay I was diagnosed with PCOS a little over 4 years ago. About three years ago my original doctor told me I was IR. About a year ago I was moved from my "childrens" doctor to my Endo that I am now seeing. (both are specialist in the field). I have been listed as pre-diabetic for a while now but have never had problems with my blood sugar.
For the past 3 years when I have my glucose checked at Vanderbilt it always comes back normal.
Yesterday my regular doctor told me I was Diabetic (she did lab work like 4 weeks ago) and changed my Metformin ER to another type of Metformin. Then they did a test right there in the office with the blood sugar tester and it was 93 (mind you this was after a McDonalds lunch). Is it possible that my regular doctor is wrong?
And if shes not-shouldn't my Endo be taking care of the Diabetes? I was so out of it yesterday and so shaken up I didn't remember to tell my regualr doctor WHY I am on the Metformin ER-the regular stuff makes me sick.
Any advice or ideas would be nice.

Thanks

The criteria for diagnosis of diabetes is a fasting glucose of 126 or greater on two separate visits, or a "casual" glucose reading of 200 (that too usually needs to be confirmed a second time). Talk to the doc about this and see what she used to determine her diagnosis. If you're not satisfied with her response definitely visit the endo. You don't want a diabetes diagnosis on your medical records if you don't really have it!
