Default trying to find a dr.

Can anyone suggest a good dr in Calgary. I've been looking for a dr who knows about PCOS for about 4 years and can't find one.
I usually have to tell them about pcos. I just want a dr who can help in any way.

Hi. Are you looking for a GP? My GP (Dr. Ulrich Lauf) knew a bit, enough to refer me to an Endocrinologist (Dr. Corenblum) when I couldn't get PG. Unfortunately I don't think Dr. Lauf is taking new patients, but you could always call and see. Dr. Corenblum is very knowledgable about PCOS. It's kind of his specialty.

Default I've called Dr. Corenblum's

office and he is taking new patients, but you need to be referred. So now I just have to find a dr ( I'm new to Calgary) to refer me. I'm hoping to get this done by christmas.

Calgary health keeps a list of accepting dr's. good luck with it. what area of town are you in? Some of the walk in clinics have dr's accepting patients in their practice. good luck

You can try Dr. Yolanda Kao (Bridgeland area)...she isn't a 'pcos doctor' but she has been my doctor for about 10 years and I really like her. I'm not sure if she is taking new patients, but she has 2 other female doctors with her as well.

Good Luck!

Hi peanut,

I'm in the NE as well, there is a doc who has been very helpful on 36th street at the Medicentre located in Whitehorn (in the same complex as the Whitehorn Safeway), his name is Prem Chengalath. He's a GP, but he also delivers at the Peter Lougheed. He took care of me during my pregnancy. He is a great doctor and as far as I know he is taking new patients. He's not a PCOS doc, but he can surely refer you.

Hope that helps.
