Does anyone know of a good OB/GYN or endo for PCOS in the SW Missouri area? I have almost all of the indicators and have been trying to get dx for 5 yrs. I have seen three OB/GYNs and none of them have done any testing-they just prescribe prometrium to get my periods and ovulation started regularly again. I have brought it up to my current GYN before but I was told PCOS is rare and my doc kind of acted like I was a self-dx hypochondriac. Should I just insist that I get tested? Can I do that? Thanks for any guidance!
I lived in Springfield for most of my life, as a matter of fact I will be there this afternoon, I have lived in Arkansas for two years.
I went to DR. Donna Roberts and she diagnosed me, she is a family doctor. She is in the Cox Clinic in Republec and she sent me to an endo, but the endo was not an RE. I loved Dr. Roberts she is so nice and her staff was wonderful. I was having miagranes and she let me come in without an appt and get some meds.
As far as I know there are no RE's in Springfield. I think you have to go to St. Louis, Tulsa or KC.
I hope everything goes well for you during your DR. oppointment, and also I am not from MO but most of my family lives there in Springfield and I was just wondering if you knew any Zebels from around your way!
Hello, I live in Mtn Home Arkansas and I went to my family doctor here and he sent me to an Endo locally. His name is Dr. Karlsson and he is wonderful. I have only been to him once, and he has done more for me in that one visit than my Gyno has ever done. I also found an endo I believe in Jefferson City Missouri by the name of Dr. Case. I emailed him and he is the one who encouraged me to go to my family doctor to be dx and sent to an endo. He was very nice. His email address is ccase@jcmg.org. If I lived closer to him, I'd would see him. Good luck and best wishes. K
