drchickon: OMG look at your cutie! Things are going ok with us. We had our first appointment with the RE on 5dpo... they took b/w for no good reason and we got a borderline pos (because of the trigger, duh). Then we had follow up at 8dpo that was sooooo negative. It was all too early to know anything. Tomorrow is 14dpo and we are doing our beta then, will get the results friday. I'll let you know how it goes.
Right now our plan is up in the air. We are either doing femara + gonal f with our DO, gonal f with at home insem with our RE, gonal f with IUI, or just an HSG next cycle. I don't think we'll know until next week.
I just hope that we get a BFP this time so that I don't have to worry about any of it. If not, ugh, I hope everything gets worked out.

Just wanted to say 'hi'! My partner and I have been TTC #1 since 2006. I just got diagnosed with PCOS which explains so many of the problems (including 1 confirmed m/c and at least 1 suspected very early m/c). It's upsetting to be dx'd with something like this but at the same time, I feel hopeful that now that I know for certain what the problem is, we can actually address it and hopefully get the baby we've always wanted.
Anyway, I read through a lot of the thread and really enjoyed following you all on your journeys! I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi sages! Good to see you hear. It's great that you were finally dx because now you can start doing the things that are going to get you that baby. What were you doing before to chart ovulation? How many times have you guys tried since 2006?
An interesting thing for this thread is that most of the cysters ttc have partners... I get asked all the time why I am not the one having the babies if DW has pcos and I do not... like it's interchangeable. Where do you all stand on this.
Drchickon: there is a 200 post limit per thread and if Kat sees this one she will close it. You should start a new thread soon and link it here so that everyone knows where to find the new one.

Yes, I agree that it's great to finally get dx'd. Honestly, I had my suspicions years ago, but my obgyn was clueless. She kept saying "you're young, you'll get pregnant" and finally gave me clomid after I proved to her that I wasn't ovulating (I asked for lab work). She still insisted I was fine and then I had a m/c, followed by a chemical pg a few months later. She said the hair loss was just hormonal (but not linked to PCOS? hmm lol), that my weight gain was no big deal, and that everything would work itself out. I am so glad to have a new doctor who seems to know what she's talking about... she said I had PCOS on the very first time I saw her... even before an u/s confirmed it. So I am hopeful.
We have done approx. 12 insemination cycles since we began in 2006... I could be off on the numbers, though as the months seem to all run together after this long. I know only 5 of those were medicated (clomid). We have been using a known donor and doing ICI at home. I am just now getting back in the saddle after several months off. I have considered moving on to frozen sperm and IUI and will talk to the doctor about that possibility if we get no results after 3 months on the new meds.
I, too, have been asked why my DW is not having the baby and there are a few reasons with us. First, because she is 35 so she's older than me (not that it puts her out of the game, but it does add a small amount of challenge). Second, because she may have undiagnosed fertility problems or problems carrying a child because she had a stillborn child at around 6 months when she was 19 years old. Most importantly, because she doesn't have the need or desire to carry a baby and I do... not exactly something that can be negotiated. She has said that if I can't have one, she'll do it, but I desperately want to carry a child and give birth, so I'm doing everything I can. It might be confusing to outsiders... I dunno... but it is what it is, ya know?
I noticed that you confronted some people about a thread concerning the Oregon transman who is pregnant... I got into it a bit on another thread about the same subject... wasn't sure if you'd come across it or not Oregon Man is PREGNANT!!!
I almost left soulcysters because I found that post within a week of joining and did not want to hang out with a bunch of people like that... but then I found this thread and had a little hope for the site LOL

I took 50mg of clomid on days 4-8 starting on 5/6/08 and am now waiting on a positive OPK so I can get my first IUI scheduled. Its been 20 days today since my last clomid pill and still no positive OPK. I can feel your frustrations. Its like you go through all of the meds and waiting and anxiousness with not knowing when or even if you will ovulate.
