Does af start soon after or will I have to wait for a long time. Anyone who has been there, please let me know. Am I more likely to ovulate this upcoming month?

I had my miscarriage right before starting treatment and my doctor wanted me to wait 6-8 weeks before trying again so I went on BCPs to make things work according to my liking, knowing AF was not necassarily going to come on her own in a timely fashion.
There are many schools of thought on when to try again.
Some feel that the cycle after a m/c, your body won't build a nice, thick lining, so the risk of another miscarriage is high that cycle. And then there are some who say this is not true.
There are some who say you are "extra" fertile after a m/c... and then there are those who say you probably won't ovulate the cycle after a m/c.
Some say wait one month, some say wait 3 months, some say there is no need to wait.
Like I said, though, I think most docs will want you to wait a cycle before they let you try again with their help. BCPs are a nice way of ensuring that "cycle" is at the shorter end of normal. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
As for when AF will come again, who knows? You count the m/c as a period and you might have a period again in 4 weeks, or 6, or it could take longer. Everyone is different. I went on BCPs to ensure I didn't have to wait around forever. Even after the cycle of BCPs I had a *really* light period which makes me think maybe my uterus wouldn't have done so well with another pregnancy right away, but who knows. Everyone is different.

As far as ttc after a loss goes, every Dr. is different. Some will say 3, some will say 6, some say just wait one cycle, but the reality is that you can start right away. That depends on wether you are 'emotionally' ready. I have had 4 losses, after the first one I waited while before I went back for treament and officially started ttc, after the other 3 losses the wait varied between right away and 3 months. Each loss was different for me so each mourning period was different. My sil had a mc (tubal) and started right away. She didn't even get af. 6 weeks after her loss she was pg. She had a healthy baby 9 months later To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. .
As far as af goes, that also can vary. If you were very early , your cycle may return earlier. That depends on your hormones and body. Good luck and hth!
