Maria - i am on fertility friend but i cannot find the part saying i can refer a friend!!!Il keep looking though!!! They might be just be inserting the blue dye and using either an abdominal scan or a tranvaginal scan to see if the liquid passes around ok.........
I got som esleep last night, it isnt painful anymore just cramps every so often, i just seem to have trouble sleeping! I am hoping it means AF is coming as it will be the first time in ages its comeon its own without me needing to take tablets to induce it!!! But my temps went back up today so i have no idea whats going on.
There is no point going to my GP as he hasnt got he first clue about PCOS and gets more confused than i do! I cant even change GPs as we are assigned one in our area and it just so happens mine is useless bless him!! I cant even get a nearer appointment with my specialist as you have to book like 9 weeks in advance!!!!!

Hows you all anyway???

Hey Sarah and Dani, good luck with your new Clomid cycles!! Keep us updated on how things go and how you feel :-)

I think I finally ovulated on my cocktail of supplements and metformin this month! I am really looking forward to my AF (or pregnancy...) to see if the dates confirm my ovulation! How sad... lol.

Take care everyone :-) xxx

Good morning, it's me again :-) Hope you are all well!

I have just called my GP to get an appointment for Thursday (CD 26 or 8 DPO) to ask a few questions, see if she'll prescribe Prometrium (and not Provera like hospital consultant did) and to ask to have a bloodtest done to check hormone levels, especially progesterone (as in the past it was non-existent in luteal phase).

I hope she will accept as it would be very important for me to understand if I really ovulated this month or if I just wanted to believe I did...

Do your GPs usually accept to do you blood tests at your request? Thank you :-)

PS: Last night I got up for the toilet and fell/slipped down the stairs on my side and a bit of belly - I have burnt skin on my legs, bum, arm, belly and it's all a bit sore and burning :-( My first thought was whether it could affect a possible pregnancy but I checked online and it's unlikely luckily. Still hurts though :-(

Good morning all

Lizzie I would definatley go talk to your Dr if you think you are having any side effects from medication hun, I haven't been on metamorfin so I can't help sorry

Dani I get moody without the clomid so god help my partner if it makes me moodier haha he hides during AF anyway, he seems to spend alot of time at the gym to avoid me as i shout at him alot when im on :/

Maria I do hope you have as you sound well exited at the prospect of it, you should be able to request the blood test yes as you are ttc the dr should understand, and dont worry about falling over so early on if you are its pretty well protected as it would only be a bundle of cells at this time so nothing really to damage, if you have a baby bump and fall on to it then a checkup would be needed. My friend trained through her first trimester and fell onto the ice all the time and she has a helathy baby girl its ok honest you should be fine, if you do experience any heavy cramping and spotting however go to the dr thats what i experienced when I M/C so better to eb safe than sorry.

Does anyone else find it strange that we live our lifes counting cycle days and measuring cervical mucuous and so on lol?

xxx

i dont find it strange any more its kidna normal just spending my days wishing for af/ovulation/bfp etc etc.....What will be weird is if i evr manage to have another baby, what will i do then....lol
Well the mood swings are here, i hate it when they are, and i try so hard but the smallest hing annoys me, even someone looking at me the wrong way so this should be fun lol.

Maria - oh honeyi hope the sore bits get better soon, fancy sliding down the stairs?!!! I did that back in february, lost my footing on some friends stairs and fell feet first to the bottom!! had burns up my side and back! My GP doesnt seem to accept my requests straight away i have to bug him a few times!! Let us know how you get on though, especially if they will prescribe prometrium, its always good to know what other peoples doctors say xxx

Lizzie - Dont give it up yet, metformin makes us all sick and with bad tummys in the beginning, you just have to give your body a while to settle down!! It took me ages but now i actually get through a day without feeling ill when i take them. My doctor told me to start on 1 a day (500mg) and after a week make it 2 a day, then in week three make it up to the 3 a day, if at any time it made me too ill just to go back to whichever dose made me comfortable!!! Give it another go!, if you really cant handle it go back and ask what else they can give you xxx

Sarah - My poor paul is so good now, he's used to the mood swings with me! he plays all nice when im on the clomid as a few cycles ago, i had a really bad mood swing and ended up throwing things at him for saying something sarcastic to me!!! woooops!!! lol

Now i have finished my clomid it is time to start the opks and bd-in soon!!! oh dont ya just love the fact after taking all these pills you have to force yourselves to have sex every other day............ the things we do xxxx

Thank you for your reassurances about my fall... even if I was pregnant, I am sure as you said that my "little" belly would protect everything underneath. It was a bit funny though as at first I was annoyed at Pete as he was going to work (he is a postman so wakes up very early) and he woke me up and said he would send our cats upstairs to keep me company but then didn't, so I was going to toilet and wanted to get cats and that's when I fell down the stairs. I was crying like a baby and phoned Pete who was going to the car. He told me off for being so noisy! But then was nice when he realised what happened and he promised me a surprise for later

Lizzie - I agree with everyone else, if you can, try to continue on the Metformin and maybe reduce to a lower dose for a while. I too started on 500mg for about 4 weeks and then upped it to 1000mg. I've got a bit leftover as I started so slowly on it so I also upped it to 1500mg at times. Will check with my doc what I should stay on for the future. I am quite lucky in that I don't really notice s/e apart from a bit of stomach problems at first and maybe headaches now and then. What kind of s/e did you experience? Did you take the Metformin before/during/after a meal? I think many PCOSers say during or after a meal helps.

Sarah and Dani - do you really notice such a big difference on your mood on Clomid? I felt a bit moodier around what I think was my ovulation but then I never really seem to think it is me... it's of course always Pete's fault, not mine, lol... so I wonder how I will be on Clomid when I start it end January. It worries me because Pete is supportive but has not really got a clue about hormones, the medications I talk about, and just thinks I should do what my hospital consultant says and not worry till end January... He thinks I am obsessed and does not really take the time to read about these things himelf, so if we argue when I am frustrated, he does not realise it might be my hormones, and he thinks I don't love him anymore :-(

I too don't find it that weird anymore that I obsess about CM, BBT charting, OPKs, etc... I have tried the "maybe not thinking about it will help me conceive" and it did nothing, since then I had hardly any AF and was not even sure if I ovulated... and as our libidos are not that high we can go weeks without BD'ing so there would be really no chance of conceiving.

I think it is really important to get to know your body and if something is wrong, to try and fix it naturally or with help of medications. I think this way I may obsess for a few months but hopefully soon I'll be able to obsess about something else... like preparing for a baby, getting the baby's room ready, etc. Over the past 2 years I never did as much as I am doing now and never felt that positive, now I am really upbeat about it all and positive it will happen for us soon.

I will let you know how I get on Thursday with GP. The blood test is the most important thing to me as I would like to do it there and then (they have a couple of nurses at the practice that take blood... although not very well and they always pierce me a few times before finding the right vein but I don't mind).

For Prometrium I have a feeling she will say she cannot prescribe it and to ask the hospital consultant... but end January is so far away... we'll see.

Sorry for rambling on... lol. GL with the BD'ing Dani !

Maria - your fine, i like the rambling lol x
My moods are awful on clomid, i swear all my poor daughter or Paul has to do is look at me the wrong way and they leave the room headless!! lol. Im an ogre for about 2 weeks after clomid!!! So now would be a good time to explain to your dh that things might be a little rough and he just has to ignore you when you do start taking clomid xx
yeah i will have fun bdin, im more nervous about not Oing again, as apart from clomid there is nothing else they will try now!!!!!!! so so scared at the minute as im slowly running out of options. Cant imagine having to give up ttc but it may come down to it xxx

i took my metformin before during and after meals nothing helped, i ve been on metformin for over two months now and upped the dose from 500 mgs to 1700 mgs like the doctor told me, it was 2 or 3 weeks after starting the 1700 mgs that it got worse so i would have thought any symptoms from that would have shown up already as i had not had any, anyways i ll try the metformin again next week and if it happens again im going straight to my doctor to ask about glucophage, its just very odd that it has happened out of the blue like that after being fine on it for 2 months then bam !!! Also the diarrhea and stomach cramps were truely terrible i was beginning to get weak from it i couldnt carry on like i was !!!

Good Luck all xxx

Dani - stay positive hun you dont ever have to give up ttc, the dr's arent stopping you from having sex are they, you may just catch naturally one month I managed to do that suprisingly and I have complete bracletting effect around my ovaries they are covered in cysts so there is still hope honest hun

Lizzie maybe its taken 2 months to build up in your system to a level that your body has reacted to?? That can sometimes happen hun

I am currently suffering from bad clomid headaches I think my skull is about to explode :'(
