Hi Kelly, welcome to this site and thread :-) I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to open up to us

Poor Sa! I think we are all a bit clumsy at the moment! And this Clomid just seems to make everything worse for you and Dani. I hope you get pregnant with a sticky baby soon so you can stop having more rounds of Clomid.

When do you get the side effects the most? During the 5 days of Clomid or after? Does it happen during ovulation, and if so does it affect your BD at the most important time it is needed? It worries me that when I will take it it will make me annoyed at everyone and not feel like BD when it is so important to.

I am seeing the GP tomorrow morning at 8.05am and cannot really sleep as am nervous seeing her. I have a list of things to remember talking about, and will print my updated Fertility Friend chart tomorrow to show her why I would like the progesterone blood test. I always get nervous because I would like to talk for at least 15mins but from past experiences know that sometimes you only get given 3 mins max inside the GPs office, although this GP is much better than my past ones.

Will let you know tomorrow how it went. Will try to sleep now... Maria x

Hello girls, me again :-) Went to the GP so updating you on that... Beware: it may be a long one!

Blood tests - GP was very positive about the fact that I thought I ovulated (I showed her the Fertility Friend graph) and wrote everything down on my file. She had no hesitation in giving me the blood tests "prescription" and was happy I got there on the right day (DPO 8), so she got a nurse to take my blood there and then. She also asked for my other hormones, cholesterol, tryglicerides, etc which I like to keep an eye on.

Prometrium (bio-identical progesterone capsules) - Less good news... she did not know what it was!!! Was quite surprised by that. Is Prometrium not given in the UK? I thought it was... I said that as I had in the past low progesterone that even if I ovulated was worried it may still be low, and that I had the Provera (artificial progesterone = progestins) at home to induce periods but as it could cause birth defects I knew it was to avoid if pregnant. Plus you can only take Provera for 5 days, not the whole Luteal phase...
She said it is only to avoid after 12 weeks so it would be safe to take to raise progesterone and to induce periods and that I could start tonight... I am not sure about that. If I am pregnant, then I need the extra progesterone, but I am also worried it might not be good for me or the very hypotetical baby...
What do you think...? will have a better read about Provera again.
I will see her next Thursday for my blood results so she said she will look into Prometrium for then :-)

Burns on my leg and bum - Showed her the burns/oedema/swelling just to be sure it did not need any specific creams on as have been using Whitch Hazel/Doctor cream so far. All good :-)

Increase Metformin? - Forgot to ask... as she seemed a bit in a rush (think i was in 5 minutes today, not too bad)

Also, could you have a look at my Fertility Friend graph (link in my signature) and tell me what you think of today's dip? It is below the ovulation cover line so I think that generally that means I am probably not pregnant... but I have been having some PMS like discomfort yesterday and today ?!

Thanks for your advice :-) Hope you are all having a good day!

Morning Maria This is my first round of clomid and i seem to be getting headaches hot flashes and mood swings now I have no idea if I will get anyb after I stop the round wich is tonight and my Af has ended today so wahoo baby making time for me I swear i am a nymphomaniac hahah

Its great you got your blood tests, I find if you go in knowing what you want form them and ask they generally help, afterall they are not mind readers so I find just being blunt and saying "I want this!" is the way to go with the NHS and atleast she is looking int the medication you have requested if its not available on the NHS whish is why she may not know of it you probably will have to purchase it privatley, oh wait I forgot in England you have to buy all your medication dont you?? I'n wales all prescription medication is free sorry forgot abou that. Well atleast she is looking into it.

And Maria never feel rushed or pushed out of the DR's office stay intill you have finished, you pay her wages she/he can spend 10mins with you. Me and my Dr who is currently pg talk for about 15/20mins we just tend to gab haha

Sorry I couldnt figure out how to view the chart I am simple minded lol

Hey im gurd J how are all you lovely ladies?
Quick question on BBT I have only started to do so this month i do it at the same time every morning 5am but I’m getting some weird results, I seem to be averaging a temperature of 36.2 Celsius which is slightly below normal and one day it was 36 Celsius, in human biology we were always taught the norm was 37 I seem to be below this by a entire degree, is this odd or am I just naturally cooler…ha what an awesome statement to say “I am naturally cooler” LOL anyhow anybody else have odd temp readings?

Hello Sa and Dani, thanks a lot for your replies, and enjoy all the BD! :p I hope you find out about your ovulation soon too!

Sorry the link to my Fertility Friend was in my signature but not in an obvious way - I have changed it now so you can actually see the link. I think today was the implantation dip, but not sure if it is a good thing or not. I keep getting funny twinges too. I try not to overinterpret things though, as all this could also mean I am about to get my AF, maybe early. NB: my OPKs were not + on the chart, only the darkest I got.

It's great you can chat with your GP Here around Manchester I think they are all the same and rushed as the population is very dense and not enough GPs. I want to stick with this one though as she seems better than my previous ones. I always go with a list of things to remember though and usually get through most of it. Maybe I am a bit too much to the point and should try to be more chatty so she'd forget about the watch

I did not know that difference between Wales and the UK (btw Pete is taking me to Llandudno for my birthday next month :-)). We get a prescription from the GP (usually with not too much on it) and then at the pharmacy we pay something like £7.20, regardless of what the medication is. I always paid at the pharmacy until I got Metformin for my IR! Apparently as it is a diabetic medication and these are free, I got it free, and I also got Provera free as I said I was not sure if I should pay as Met was free as I have IR, and they said Provera was free too!? Well I am not going to complain. Is anyone else getting them free on their prescription?

That is ridiculous indeed about the progesterone Dani isn't it! I think I will take 10mg for 5 days of Provera this month. I ordered progesterone pills (like Prometrium) and a natural progesterone cream online some time ago but still not got them and would have preferred to have the go ahead from the GP really. I know I shouldn't order online things like that but I think that if I ever had a m/c because they won't give me progesterone I would be consumed by hatred. I hope you won't judge me for doing that.

Oh Sa, just saw your BBT question too... I am cooler like you !!! Pete measures my BBT between 4 and 5am when he goes to work (I am usually asleep!) and I had very low temps especially around AF and just after (like 35.85), then I remeasure myself when I wake up at about 8am and make the average of the two. The earlier, the lower the temps I have noticed but both have the same trends.

Sorry again for long answer...!!! Will shush for the rest of the day now

PS: when I first tried charting BBT in the past I always got funny temps like that, between 35 and 36.60 max... so I figured it was not working on me. This time, doing it for a full month, I realised they do go up eventually so don't worry Sa

Hey ladies, hope you all had a lovely halloween weekend x how are we all now monday is here again ???

Sa - the opks, i have no idea myself i normally start using them on cd10 and use them every other day, i buy a whole bunch from ebay so they quite cheap. Its best to test in the afternoon, they say between 10am and 8pm, as morning urine might not be strong enough yet to show anything as the lh surge takes a while to get into your system. Its the same concept as the hpt, except your looking for the test line to be the same or darker than the control line, if its lighter then its a negative still!!! Hope that helps a little!!! But do be aware that us ladies with pcos sometimes cant get a positive on opks evn though we have ovulated!!!

As for halloween, i had a 18th birthday party to go to and it was an 80s themed party so the only thing i could find to wear was neon!!!! and leg warmers!! lol. It was great fun and my little sister(the birthday girl) had a delorean (from the back to the future film) as her ride to the party!!!!! Was fun!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ENGAGEMENT!!!! wow thats so exciting!!!!!!! Sooooooo any ideas on a date yet?????

ooh and a pic before i go : me and my daughter ready to party!!!!
