Question TTC, but on the pill! What natural remedies can I take?

Hello, I'm new to this site. I am grateful that there is so much information available. I felt very alone. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for me. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2000 and have been trying TTC since then. I have tried clomid and it didn't work. I have also had ovarian drilling and had an operation to remove a large cyst in 2003.
I am now on the pill for six months because my doctor though it would help clear the cysts and enable me to lose weight. I am concerned that the pill will take a long time to get out of my system and would like to take natural remedies whilst still taking the pill. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you.

Hmmm....I know that you are looking for natural remedies, but I think you should be on Metformin to compliment the Clomid. It really helps while TTC and with weight loss.

P.S. You doc is right, taking BCPs will shrink cysts.

Thanks Lindy, I forgot to say I was on Metformin 1000mg per day. I just thought I could take something natural while I'm on BCP to build my system up. I'm nervous about coming off the BCP because it took nine months to have a period last time I stopped taking the pill in 2000.
Thanks anyway, good luck.

Oh, good...glad you are on Met.

The only thing I can think of would be to take Vitex after you stop the pill. I have never taken it, but some swear by it. It is a pill, I think, derived from the chasteberry which is suppossed to help regulate AF. You might run a search on it. I think you can buy it at health food/vitamin stores?

Also, Increasing your dosage of Met to 1500 daily right now should help you. 1500 is supposed to be the minimum effective dosage and will probably help bring AF faster. Since time is of the essence while TTC, I say go for it!!! Some might even tell you to raise it to 2000. I have never O'd on 1500 so I may raise my dosage to 2000 someday.

I wish you the best...hope your cysts shrink and you get pg soon
