Duckie - I was just thinking about you wondering if you had your baby yet. Looks like any day now! How are you doing??

Izy - I figured you probably had tried the pre-seed, but thought I would mention it just in case.

Izy - I am soo sorry!!! Hope next cycle is yours!

Its been a bit since I have posted. There has been a lot going on and I had to take a break from everything and everyone around me and re-focus. So things looking ok. Could be better but could be worse. So I have my donor all picked out. Just have to wait a little bit longer before we actually start it though.

So how was everyones weekend?

Question for those of you who used NW Cryobank... about how long did it take for them to get the paperwork done so that you could have your frozen pops mailed? Their website says that they do it on a first come, first served basis but I just wondered how fast they generally handle things. Also, did you have to put a deposit on the tank? I noticed that sometimes they require you to and sometimes they don't... wonder how they choose.

Sage - It's been a while, so I can't exactly remember, but we used NW Cryobank. I think it took 3 days to a week to get the paperwork processed. And we did not have to pay a deposit on the tank - I'm not sure how they determine about the deposit...

Izy - Thanks for the picture compliment I love having a boy, of course, I have never had a girl to compare it to.

Duckie - Good luck!!! You guys must be so excited and ready to meet her!!!

Thanks for the info Drchick! I'm strongly considering moving on to frozen sperm and IUI if I don't end up pg in the next few months.

Wow. This board has really exploded recently! It took me a while to read all the posts, which is awesome! Let me try to address them all...

Dr,
That picture of Colton is possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen. I LOVE the little tie. Every time I see pictures of him I'm like, "that's it... I'm going to the RE tomorrow and telling him to shoot me up with sperm." Then I come to my senses.

Duckie,
I was wondering where you'd been! Good to see you back here. Let us know when Ariea makes her grand entrance. We expect pictures as cute as Dr's

Izy,
I'm sorry about the BFN, especially after the BFP first. I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you next cycle.

Welcome to the newcomers and good luck to everyone TTC.

Re DP having the baby: This is something my ex-DP and I discussed a lot when we were thinking about TTC. She wanted to be pg at some point (don't know why - I get the feeling she would have hated being pg and suspect it's because she didn't think her parents would think of my children as hers), but I wanted to be pg so much more, plus there were other job-related issues, so we agreed I could go first. But I had no idea how many cycles she'd let me have before she'd be like, "okay, clearly this isn't working for you... my turn." It was stressful. It's hard enough when outsiders question why one of you carries the baby rather than the other, but it was even more difficult to have that debate within the relationship. (For those of you who weren't on this board then, we ended up breaking up right before starting to TTC which, in retrospect, was the best decision ever.)

I'm still plowing along in my job and life. I'm SO glad spring has finally arrived here in Chicago. Time flies... I just scrolled back through my posts on this board from a year ago - at that time my ex and I were in the final stages of picking sperm donors! Weird, huh?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I just got quite the mental picture.... Anway thanks for gushing over my boy - we love him! Also, I can't believe it was a year ago that you were picking out donors with your ex. It really seems like it must have been longer than that given everything that has happened.

Duckie - Can't wait to hear about your arrival - I am sure she'll be here anytime!

Izy - How are you guys doing?

So, we just made a connection with someone who is preggo from the same donor we used. They have a little girl due in June. I would really like to keep in touch with them over the years so the kids can have a relationship when they are older if they choose. I haven't approached that subject because I don't want to seem like some crazy stalker -type, and she hasn't even had her baby yet, so it must be weird to think about in concrete terms. But I do hope that we can maintain some sort of contact with them - is that weird?

Dr - I think that would be really nice, for Colton to know his half-siblings. Plus it would probably be interesting for you... like, "wow, they have exactly the same eye color" or something. How did you make the connection? Did you use an open donor? Does NW give that kind of info?

Saiph - I posted on the NW Cryobank message boards and the woman pregnant with his half sibling emailed me. Mostly she emailed me because she may have extra vials, which I am looking for. But she mentioned the sibling connection and she's going to email me a picture when her daughter is born this summer. She's due right around Colton's birthday - it would be crazy if they had the same birthday. I think I'll mention a little later about staying connected, even if just via email - don't want ot freak her out. And I think it would be nice for the kids to have the opportunity to meet later in life if they choose.

Ok, off to take care of double ear infection baby.
